Hi Jodie,

I know we haven't spoken much and It was lovely to put a face to a name at the London meet back when it was winter.

I have been following this thread seeing how you was doing and even though I don't have many words of advice or help. I come bearing huge hugs and much love to you. You deserve to feel better no one should have to go through what your going through right now hun. not even my or your worst enemy.

If you ever feel like you just need to take a break from everything and everyone feel quite welcome to come and stay in Yorkshire with little old me for a bit in my new house. It has a comfy spare bedroom for visitors and your welcome anytime hunni. There is not much more I can say right now. Except I hope jenna's stalking is doing some work and you feel better soon

Defeated....

Jodie, you kind of have to keep fighting. I'm getting you an awesome birthday present for a start.

I was interested to hear that the psych suggested you might have OCD, and whilst I'll have to do ALL the googling to find out more, initially I'd say that does sound legit? Your obsessive thoughts about engaging in certain ritualistic behaviours are so much more consuming than you make them out to be, and I can't even begin to imagine how much free-er you'd feel if you were able to get some treatment to get those symptoms under control, and start to escape from the rules that terrify and consume you, and that you currently have almost no power to question.

I also think the meds increase will be good for you. Hopefully the fluoxetine will make you happier, because I know you've been feeling more depressed than normal recently, and (though I know you hate the idea) I'm also a big fan of increasing the quetiapine. Just to try, to see if it makes some of the unwanted *things* go away. I had no answer to this when you said it yesterday, but now I've had a genius idea. Bear with. If you are right about your whole saving-the-world thing [sorry, didn't know how to phrase that], and it's a fact that is beyond the realms of psychiatry, then a few APs aren't going to change that. Just like, even when you've taken your pills and you're drowsy, you still remember and maintain the ideals and beliefs that are important to you- you would still jump on anyone pretending to have DID, you'd still tell me to man up and eat pies etc. So, if you're right, you'll still be right after taking ALL the APs, and nothing will change. And if you're wrong, they can help with the delusions and stop you having to be so scared and self-destructive. It's a win-win situation; the world is not put in danger either way. I hope I'm explaining this sufficiently, although that seems doubtful, so maybe I'll try to explain it in person at some point.

I think there is a part of you that is entertaining the possibility that some of your thoughts are of the magical variety, so please don't hide that part of you away. Listen to that part of you. Think about what you'd say to someone else who had similar thoughts to you.

I am doing ALL the rambling. *continues*

I know the topic of this thread isn't really your eating disorder, but the fearless bastard I am is going to mention it anyway. How are you feeling about it at the moment? Do you think you could commit to trying to reduce your purging, if we worked together with N to devise a strategy [better than the last one I had, because clearly that was shit :p]? Because I think you saw last night that your stomach isn't willing to play ball any more, and when your depression and other issues pass (which in time, they will), you will be needing a functional body to live the rest of your life in.

I might actually stop talking now.

I hope it goes without saying, that I'm here for you whenever you need me, and that I love you.

<3

P.S. Please don't lose ALL the weight. I have enough imaginary friends without you becoming invisible too.

I'm glad your meds are getting increased. Your psych sound clever, i never even thought about it but your thoughts do seem very OCD. That might not mean you get a new/extra diagnosis but that it kind of gets rid of some you currently have. So in a sense you have less diagnosis.
Flouoxatine is good for OCD so it should help. Well it should help the obsessive side of your mind.i think you were due an increase, it doesn't seem like your current dosage has been doing much for a while.

Why do you not want you quietapine increased? If your on the dose I think your on, i imagin they will only double it and that is not enought for it to act As a mind altering AP but rather as a anti depressant. Quietapine e is used at low doses along side anti Ds as a treatment for depression so by the sound of things your not on the quietapine for psychotic thoughts but for depressive thoughts.
I don't know if that helps?

I still think you need therapy. I think that the increase in medication will help but only till you get depressed again. You problems are too complex they cannot be stabilised on med alone.
Have you heard anything more about the PD service?

No, they wanna put it up to 200-400. But I'd rather be on something that won't make me fat. Trololol. I don't think I'm psychotic, like, at all. But apparently seeing people that other people don't isn't cool. Even though I know they're wrong and just can't see clearly.

I haven't heard back from pd no, but their waiting list is like 2/3 years so I didn't expect to hear anything. I don't know anymore. I'm just tired of having to sort things out. I know it's my responsibility to make sure I get help if I'm unwell... I'm just really exhausted by it all.

Jenna, I will reply when home and on a lap top so can quote easily.

Jodie I just saw the updates and I will reply later when I'm not running to the hosp but I do really care about you. You can find a life beyond all of this. And while it might not be what you want if things are so draining and wearisome it might not be a bad idea to think of some crisis help. Someplace to get Some rest? I dot know again I will come reply later but I am sending you all my love. You are a really important, sweet and loved person. Altogether too precious to lose. Xxx

Not everyone on quietapine gains weight and if you illiminate every drug that could cause weight gain you only havea few left and they might not be the right drug for you mood.

There is also the fact the your mood would probibly more stable if you gained weight because no ones brain function right when they are under weight.

I've read your thread and I'm so sorry you are struggling so much with so many things. You must be completely overwhelmed.
I do think that increasing your meds is a good idea, it's very likely it will help with a lot of your symptoms and decrease the amount of distress you are in. Not all people on Seroquel gain weight and you may be one of the people who don't. But it sounds like you need to gain the weight.

Seeing things that others don't isn't cool, it means you are unwell and need treatment. My best friend rara Avis/Alexis getting better from his schizophrenia now that he is on a good medication. It can really help and would make your life that much easier. You don't deserve to be going through all this.

Thinking of you
Ash

If it eases your mind at all. I'm on 200mg of Quetiapine XL and it didn't make me gain weight or feel any increased hunger. Try it and see if it will relieve any of your symptoms. It really is worth a try Jodie

Love you xx

I'm just going to jump in and say that when I was on 200mg of Quetiapine I didn't gain any weight at all.
I am also leaving you love and hugs and all that mushy stuff. :]
