I think you need to get ashton and parsons at the chemist, at least we had too, other wise you could try teetha, which is practically the same as ashton and parsons, and they sell it in Tesco...
Mand, that picture of Chloe is real cute! she's massive now! =]
It's so easy to get lost in constantly having to present
whatever face you believe a person wants to see rather than your own
i get ashtons and parsons in boots. you could always order it online if you are having problems finding it? boots also does their own teething powders which apparently do the same job. i bought them last time as they were out of a&p. unfortunately and surprisingly though, they were more expensive! i would ask someone in a pharmacist or boots if you have one.

Harlan woke up this morning, threw up loads, and has red spots all over his back and also on his chest, arm and leg. I reckon it could be chickenpox, so he's got a doctor's appointment at 11.45am to find out.
Well we went to the doctors and yes it's chickenpox. Looks like Rusty and I may have it too - we've each got a few very itchy spots so the doctor said it could well develop over the next few days. Poor baby is really grouchy and clingy, if you put him down to sleep eh wakes and cries til you pick him up again, whereas he normally goes dowqn for naps and sleeps for hours.
He's dosed up on calpol but not much more we can do unfortunately.
you're meant to give it every four hours (or as needed as long as it's more than 4 hours), no more than four times in 24 hours. I think. Check the bottle it says on there.
He's getting more spots and looks unwell. You can tell when the calpol has worn off cos he cries and cries and there's nothing you can do until he's due another dose. I cant put him down cos he cries, so Rusty and I have to hold him 24/7 atm, we're cosleeping and doing shifts, anything to try and get some kip.
What worries me is that he's struggling to keep anything down, keeps being very sick. He is a little dehydrated - his fontanelle is a bit dipped in - so if he isnt keeping milk and/or water down by tomorrow I'm taking him back to the doctors.
aw poor harlan! sounds horrible i always feel so bad for babies when they are ill because they have absolutely no concept of what being ill is it must be scary for them too. take him back tomorrow hun x

being skint does really suck. i know that one well. i found freyja was off for a few days with her first lot so i have split the rest up. instead of having 2 jabs at her second lot i split it into two appointments now shes onto her third lot and they have been split up as well, just to make it easier on her body.
sorry lou i dont have any experience in that. how are you doing with the pregnancy, is this what they are saying they are going to do for you?

ITs something they are considering yeah, Apparently I'm suffering from severe ante natal depression, at my last midwifes appointment (which was at 2.45pm) they wouldnt let me leave until i had seen a doctor (at 5.30!!) i have to do complimentary therapys like yoga and tai chi and aromatherapy jsut to get me out of the house and stuff, but to be honest i wouldnt say i am that abd at all! just a few bouts of sadness nothing severe... although i did try to induce myself a few weeks back..
but yer depending how i am at my appointment on 23rd Decemebr (or earlier if needs be) they may look at inducing me as soon as i hit 36 weeks which would be the beginning of january i believe!
if anyone has any experience in this could you please get in touch?
I hope everyone and everyones little uns r doing ok xx
Sorry Lou, I have no experiance of that but good luck whatever happens. To be honest if you are managing the complimentary therapies that has to be a positive thing so you have a few weeks till the begining of January to see how you;re doing. Look after the 2 of you!
maybe pm that info lou - might be seen a tip-sharing..
chloe is waking every night with tummy ache again. she's having calpol, juice, bonjela, teething powder... anything we can think of and is still taking 3hrs to go back to sleep.
i cant wait for her to get chickenpox, get it out of the way like.
victoria, i heard that adult chickenpox can affect fertility in men due to the high temperature... something worth looking into as you're ttc.
chloe is pulling herself up and using her walker fine now, she tends to use the fireguard to pull up on coz she's learnt that the walker tips.
as of sunday (during the take that tv programme) Chloe has started clapping her hands, both when asked or when you do something she likes/finds funny. she does it really wierdly, all other babies i have seen clapping just madly flair their arms towards each other... Chloe holds her left hand still and claps the right hand onto it, she can make a noise too! oh and she's learnt the 'two handed red indian' bashing her mouth but with two hands.... oh and she clicks her tongue (I started doing it to distract her from the tv at feeding time) and does a wierd sucking on her tounge to make a squeaky noise too.
i've only been off a few days but so much has happened! love to all, mand x
