It's this thing called World of Difference a charity hosted by Vodafone.
Basically, you know all those charities that allow you to work abroad teaching english, or help build a school, well usually you need to pay for yourself, like airfare and so on to get yourself out there. You pay and the charity organise your flight and accommodation and so on but you pay for yourself.
World of Difference pays the money for you. It's for people like me who want to do the charity work but can't afford it.
There's a limited number of spaces available and you have to apply and be interviewed and everything for it.
Also you have to set up your contact with the charity in advance. You have to contact the charity and organize for World Of Difference to make your payments for you.
It's made easier because they have a list of Charities and you can narrow that list down based on what you want to do; Marine conservation, education, archaeology etc. and narrow down where in the world you want to work.
So I've run myself through the Charity matching and have this long list of charities in front of me. All I have to do is read through them and see which project I like the most and make contact with them.
There's the problem. I can't do it. I just stare at this list and whenever I start trying to look through even one of the entries on the list I just feel overwhelmed. My throat feels tighter just talking bout it. It's too much to look at. I think about this kind of adventure but when it comes to choosing one I just can't do it.
And i'm being so stupid, because even if I chose one, and made contact and got them to agree there's no reason I'd be picked as one of sixteen people who get this grant.
Still, i can't even read one full entry on that list of charities.

Or pick ones that have lots of photos that might help you understand more about the project without having to trawl through all the details?
