Well, Silent Scars, sadly no reindeer (the garden's too small) but we have Pippa, our 12 year-old lab bitch who's possibly even greyer than I am.
Just so's you'all know, Harley and I conceived this idea a couple of years ago and its aim remains to try to save RYL members from any sort of bleak and shitty Christmas. We can only do so much but, for the record, Harley has gone to immense trouble to find stuff to send out and we hope that although our little packages can't contain any thing of too much value, they'll perhaps cheer people up because of the thoughts behind them ...
The whole house is currently filled with envelopes, lists of sticky labels with names on them, and a huge miscellany of bracelets, rings and other such stuff waiting to go out. The billiard table is swamped - I haven't played for weeks!
But this is surely a great time of year for people to remember each other and for RYL to hang in there together ...
Very wise words, Tony! I think there's certainly a sense of gratitude for the simple idea of the giveaway, regardless of what the gifts entail. So lovely :)

Although I couldn't afford to contribute too much financially, if you need a hand packaging any stuff up or driving stuff to the post office for posting etc then let me know. I *think* (providing you haven't moved in the last few years) that I am just up the road from RYL HQ and I don't currently work so have plenty of time on my hands if you need any extra help.

This year's giveaway has been IMMENSE! It's absolutely awesome. There have literally been 1000 prizes, not all of value but lots and lots of good things as well as small. It's been a crazy amount to do, because everyone this year has got individual parcels with multiple items according to their size and tastes as well as a personalised card that matches what they've got. Sorry in many cases it looks like they were written by a three year old, but no it is me just in a hurry! :)
And a bit like a man a long time ago with some fishes, I seem to have turned a few top prizes and some silly stuff into everyone getting multiple things and nearly everyone getting some sort of 'top prize' and getting back more than they put into their ticket, often many times over!
It's been super fun to do, if not a little exhausting! I am nearly there now and the last ones will be going out today in super good time to get down everybody's chimneys well in advance!
Don't open them early - however tempting it may be! :)
And also, I'll be really looking forward to everyone joining in on a thread on Christmas day to show off their stuff and see who got the worst cracker joke! Pics of you in hats with your pressies VERY welcome!
