In the book they do apparate to and from the cave. They use brooms to quickly get back to Hogwarts. But, apart from that I agreed with everything else entirely.
i stand corrected.
also, they missed out all the rosmerta stuff with her being the person who gave the necklace and mead intended for dumbledore to others.
from watching the film, Harry seems to have NO idea about the Horcruxes, Dumbledore explained nothing.
he's f*cked.
although, wouldn't surprise me if they changed Deathly Hallows so much that Harry f*cked up and died.

oh yeah, haha.
they'll probably just get hermione to look it up in some book and ron to be in the background looking around sheepishly.
i guess it is difficult for me to understand the film and the book as two seperate worlds. like, to me, i forget that movie-harry doesn't have all the knowledge/understanding/etc that the book-harry does because when i'm watching the movie i know what's gunna happen next most of the time and i know harry's reaction to it.
hard to explain.
nah i'm the same
it's just at work today, we had a harry potter quiz and there were two questions that i noticed you wouldn't know the answers to if you hadn't read the book, which i found funny as we're all about promoting the movie..
the questions were what is the first Horcrux Harry destroys?
and what is the name of Voldy's mum?
if you only watched the films you'd have no idea.

i think they did mention something vaguely about the riddle's diary because it was in dumbledore's desk drawer with the ring.
i would have loved to see the chapter/scene involving morfin & marvolo, & etc. apparantly lots of people didn't like it, but one of my fave things about half blood prince were the pensieve trips.
i don't remember him mentioning the diary in this movie, you just saw it and were expected to know what it was.
same with the Gaunt's ring.
was gash.
i would have loved it to be included in the movie.
the night before i watched it, the bits about the Gaunt family were this bits I was most excited about seeing on screen.
I saw it a second time yesterday. Dumbledore does say the diary is a horcrux and so is the ring and the locket. They had to figure out what the other horcruxes were in the book too. Dumbledore didn't give any clues other than that they would be special or important things.
And Ron does call Lavender by her name in the movie. He calls her Lav mostly but when they're in the great hall he goes "how did I break up with Lavender again?".
Annnnnnd Bill and Fleur are in the next movie. All the details are on imdb.
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
I went to see it on thursday after staying up till 5.30 re-reading the book the previous night. I was super excited before it started but in the end I was just kinda dissapointed cause they missed out so so much. :|

in the book he tells harry what (he at least suspects) they are. that's how we know one of them is nagini, the snake. one is the cup, the locket, and something belonging to hufflepuff / ravenclaw (can't remember which) & the others we already know about.
I'm gonna watch this in a couple of weeks, i'm kinda looking forward to it regardless as they are always good fun. I recently re-read the series again so i'm half in Potter mode!

I think Tonks is an awesome character :D I loved reading about her and her crazy changing hairness!

did anyone watch the extra bit on the last DVD with 'tonks' (i think her name is.. natalie?) guiding you round the place and she was the most annoying person ever :P
I wasnt overly thrilled with HBP. I mean, there wasnt enough of snape for a start. Where were his DADA classes? And the end didnt quite go right on the tower, Harry wasn't under his cloak or frozen or anything.
And Dumbledore hardly explained about the horcruxes. Where were the other memories, especially about the Gaunts etc?
Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.
^ Me too linder surprise. I wonder where they can be bought from?
I thought the film was pretty good, I liked it better than the last two films. Obviously they missed out some things but it was already like 3 hours long so I guess people would have got really bored!
However, I do think I'd be rather confused if I hadn't read the book as they didn't explain some things very well (like the horcruxes).
There was a bit of an anti-climax when Snape said he was the Half Blood Prince too, because the film didn't make as big a deal of it as the book does.
