pen and paper are quite nostalgic. I wrote my first novel by hand, to see if I had the attention to write a whole novel. But since then I've mostly stuck with computers. I only write in a notebook now when I can't get access to a computer.
I agree it can be quite therapeutic and you can get a great feel for what you're making. but I always get frustrated that I can't write fast enough to get my ideas out. it's painfully slow to me.
Like having a motorbike then trading it down for a bicycle. I have to type because it's the only way I can come close to writing at the speed the ideas come to me. Even then I'm not always quick enough. Sometimes I'm halfway through a word when I start writing the next one. But at my best you should see me. My fingers are a blur as two fingers on both hands work to write everything in my head.

When it comes to editing I need to read print. I mark what needs to be changed and then adapt the computer file. When I read large blocks of text on the computer my eyes have a habit of skimming and skipping sentences. Only in print do I read everything.

novels and short stories and the occasional fan fic are my cup of tea.
Poems are a rarity for me. Only when I have a huge burst of emotions I have no other way of getting out.

I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.
When I'm really in the swing of writing I'm like Adam; have to type because my ideas happen too fast for my hands to write :)
But writing out feelings and stresses is much much better on paper. I'd totally forgotten that.
I find that hand-writing a brainstorm is much more helpful, I don't really know why :)

My writing can be good if i try. but often I rush and it's messed. my e's and c's look alike. so do my f's and S's. my y's and g's too.
Even I have to do a doubletake sometimes and think "WTF did I put there. ?"

& science fiction / fantasy short stories.
