Chapter 247
Gerard stayed under the trees, not even moving. He couldn’t believe he’d just done what he’d done. He didn’t know what he’d been thinking. What if Frank found out? He leant back against the tree a little too quickly and winced slightly as his head hit the rough bark. Now he understood how Frank had felt. He stared up at the sky and wandered what he was going to do when he got home. Frank could read him like a book and always knew when something was wrong, there’s no way he could hide it from him unless he lied, but then he didn’t want to lie to Frank, and he didn’t even want to lose him. He got up and made his way slowly to the gates of the park.
Frank clutched the picture close to his chest, sobbing softly as he listened to his son now screaming in the next room. He sighed and feeling slightly guilty, he got up off the bed and lost his grip on the picture. He watched and it seemed to go in slow motion as the picture hit the floor and the glass smashed into probably a million pieces. It had been Frank’s favourite picture and as he watched the glass break it felt as if his heart was doing the same. He ran out of the room and straight to Jaidon before scooping him up in his arms quickly.
“I’m sorry Jaidon, its ok I’m here now.”
The baby’s screams turned into soft cries before slowly stopping altogether and finally he was just laying there in Frank’s arms sniffling slightly. Frank stared down at him and all he could see was Gerard staring back at him. He was everywhere, Frank could see him or smell him, and there was no escaping from it. He wished he’d just said no to Gerard going out, after all Gerard had said he couldn’t have anything to do with the twins. But Frank wasn’t like that.
Gerard wandered along in the rain, jumping slightly when he heard a crack of thunder above him. He quickened his pace, knowing Frank hated storms. Maybe that could be his excuse for getting home so early. No, he’d be lying and he’d already decided that lying wasn’t an option; he was going to be honest. Honest meaning he’d only tell Frank what had happened if he absolutely had to, which meant he wasn’t lying because he wasn’t denying it. He walked up and slowly turned his key in the lock. The house was in darkness which worried him slightly but he was soon calmed when he realised the power was off. He made his way blindly up the stairs and felt along the walls for the various doors. He got to his and Franks room first and walked in. Another flash of lightening lit up the sky and shimmered in the glass that was scattered across the floor. Gerard bent down and picked up the picture. He felt a pang of guilt as he set it back down beside the bed and carried on into Jaidons room. He found Frank huddled on the chair, holding Jaidon tightly and for a minute he wondered if Frank had even left this spot while he’d been gone.
“Frankie, are you ok?”
“N…no.”
“I’m sorry; I wouldn’t have gone if I knew it would be like this. I know storms scare you, I’m sorry babe.”
“Do you like Simon?”
“What?”
“I said do you like Simon?”
“Sure he’s a great guy.”
“No Gee, I mean do you like Simon.”
Gerard stared at his fiancée as the dreaded question replayed over and over in his head. He stared into his eyes and felt his heart break as he did the one thing he’d promised himself that he wouldn’t do,
“No Frankie, I don’t.”
Frank studied Gerard’s face in the little light that was in the room before handing him Jaidon and walking past him,
“Frank?”
“I need some air. Just watch Jaidon.”
“Where are you going?”
“The roof.”
“Be careful.”
Frank didn’t answer him, just climbed out through the window and disappeared up onto the flat part. Gerard wandered back into Jaidons room and thought about what he’d just said. The lie had come so easily, so naturally that it repulsed him to think about it. There was another load bang of thunder and then a strange noise travelling down the roof. Gerard set Jaidon down in the cot before racing to the window Frank had climbed through only minutes ago.
“FRANK?!”
“Gee, help me!”
Gerard carefully edged out onto the roof and scanned the upper part where they normally sat. He heard another strange noise behind him and leaned forward carefully to see Frank hanging from the guttering with one hand.
Lmao.
Well y'never know. He might enjoy it! ahaha.
Chapter 248 Gerard carefully made his way up onto the roof and quickly made his way across to where Frank was hanging.
"Gee help!" sobbed Frank as he tried his best to hang on the guttering, the rain was making it a difficult task. Frank tried his best to hold on, not taking his eyes of his fiancée.
"It’s going to be ok Frankie" said Gerard as he knelt down holding onto some of the roofing to keep is balance. "Grab my hand" said Gerard as he reached out a hand.
Frank waved his other hand in the air but completely missing the hand belonging to his fiancée. "I can’t!" sobbed Frankie "Don’t let me fall"
"I won’t" said Gerard trying quickly to figure something out
"Gee, I’m slipping" Frank cried out as he felt his fingers slowly sliding on the wet guttering
"You’re going to be ok" said Gerard as he tried to make his way further down, looking for anything that could help him. Down below he spotted a wooden garden chair, his mind went back to his 18th birthday where he discovered his power.
"Hold on Frankie" said Gerard as he got into a better position and leaned over the edge of the roof to the side of Frank.
"Gerard what are you doing?" said Frank as the rain mixed with his salty tears
Gerard concentrated on the chair below, willing it to rise. "come on" he whispered to himself, trying all his best to make the chair move, but it wasn’t budging. "****" he swore and climbed a little further back on the roof. "Try grabbing my hand again" said Gerard stretching out his hand, using the other one to hold on so he didn’t fall.
Frank stretched his free hand trying to grab onto Gerards, eventually he did and he squeezed the hand belonging to Gerard and felt himself being pulled up and on to the roof and into the arms of Gerard. Frank wrapped his arms around Gerard and squeezed, sobbing into the crook of Gerards next. "I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, I should of believed you, please forgive me?" sobbed Frank into Gerards chest. Gerard sighed and squeezed Frank tightly "Of course I do baby, of course I do. Now do you forgive me?" said Gerard kissing the top of Franks heard.
"You havent done anything Gee, why do you need forgiving?" asked Frank confused.
Gerard sighed again and squeezed Frank tightly "doesn’t matter" he whispered and held his fiancee close whilst looking over the streets of the city being lit up by the bright lightnening. His eyes wandered over to the Kaulitz house and he still felt a wave of anger flow through his veins at the mere thought of the twins, he tore his eyes away from the house and over to Simons house and sighed. He was so confused right now, he was becoming the sort of person he never wanted to be, and the worse thing is, Frank had no idea.

Chapter 249
They both got inside quickly before there were any more accidents and Frank headed straight to their room to clean up the glass from the smashed picture on the floor. Gerard stayed by the window frowning slightly. He didn’t understand why his power hadn’t worked properly; well it hadn’t worked at all. He’d have to ring Matt in the morning to see if he had any ideas.
Frank cleaned the glass up before shedding his clothes and crawling under the covers. He was so tired, probably from looking after Jaidon all day and then getting worked up about Gerard and Simon and of course, nearly falling off the roof hadn’t helped. He sighed and snuggled into his pillow as he heard Gerard enter the room and seconds later, he crawled into bed next to him before pulling him into his arms.
“Are you okay now Frankie?”
“I think so. I’m sorry Gee, for being so horrible to you earlier. I didn’t mean it.”
“I’m sorry too Frankie.”
“What for Gee, I said just that you don’t have anything to be sorry for.”
“I know but I am.”
“Why?”
“Because I ki…because I kept leaving you to look after Jaidon and I shouldn’t have.”
“It’s okay Gee.”
Gerard looked down at him and watched as his eyes slipped closed. Even though he could’ve lost him today, he still lied to him. He had a feeling if Frank found out about what had happened then it would finish their relationship for good. That couldn’t happen. He loved Frank so much, he’d only made one mistake and at least he hadn’t slept with Simon, unlike Frank who’d slept with Tom. Gerard screwed his eyes shut, frustrated at himself for being so bitter about Frank. He tightened his arms around the younger teen before falling into an uneasy sleep.
Frank woke up and found an empty space next to him. He turned over and looked at the clock. Just after 9 which meant Gerard had to be at work. Frank frowned slightly, realising Jaidon wasn’t crying, which was unusual. He got out of bed slowly and pulled some clothes on before heading to his son’s room. He felt the panic set in when he realised Jaidon wasn’t there and rushed downstairs, almost falling down them before racing into the lounge to find Jaidon fast asleep in his little chair. He smiled as the baby squirmed about in his sleep and guessed Gerard had stayed off work. He wandered through into the kitchen and slid his arms around Gerard,
“Hey Gee. How come you’re not at work?”
“I thought I should stay with you after what happened last night. You looked like you needed the sleep.”
“Thank you Gee.”
The door knocked, interrupting them and Gerard slid out of Franks grasp to go and answer. He was shocked to see Simon standing there before him,
“Um…hi.”
“Gerard have you spoken to Frank yet?”
“No why?”
“You have to! What you did yesterday wasn’t right.”
“As far as I’m concerned, nothing happened yesterday. We went to the park; it started raining so we came back. End of.”
“But Gerard, you can’t lie to him.”
“It’s not lying if he doesn’t know.”
Frank wandered up behind him,
“Does know what Gee?”
“Nothing babe. Simon was just making sure he hadn’t left his jacket here last night. Weren’t you?”
He glared at Simon and Simon blinked a few times, swearing Gerard’s eyes were red but not quite believing it. He didn’t say anything, just shot a disgusted look at Gerard before turning and heading back across the road. Frank watched him go and wandered back into the lounge. He had a strange feeling something was going on and he wanted to know what it was.
