Chapter 245
Gerard watched Frank climb down and turned his attention back to the view of New Jersey in front of him. He sighed, not quite believing how bad his life had got over the past few months but he refused to believe it was any of Franks doing. Frank and Jaidon were the best things to happen to him and no one was going to convince him otherwise. He didn’t know how to tell Frank what had been said back at the twins. He knew he’d have to though because even though Frank had promised him, he’d still end up wanting to go and see them. And what about the rest of the group? How was this going to affect them? And his brother? He couldn’t just order his friends to have nothing to do with them, it wasn’t fair on them. He’d have to get them around and explain the situation no doubt.
He glanced around and realised Frank hadn’t rejoined him on the roof. He got up and made his way carefully down and through the window, checking on his sleeping son before heading downstairs to find his fiancée. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Frank in the doorway talking to someone. Someone who had black hair and eyeliner, someone who was actually very good looking. He mentally slapped himself when he realised what he was thinking and wandered up behind Frank, wrapping his arms around his waist and his chin on Franks shoulder,
“Gee, this is Simon. He just moved in across the street.”
Gerard leant up of Frank and extended his hand,
“Hi Simon, I’m Gerard but you can call me Gee and I’m guessing you’ve met Frank.”
Frank moved back slightly as Gerard invited their new neighbour in and watched as they both walked through and sat down in the lounge. Frank follwed them through and took a seat next to Gerard, resting his head on his shoulder as a silent request for attention. Gerard slid his arm around Frank but continued talking to Simon about nothing in particular.
Gerard fell silent for a second when he heard Jaidon whimper upstairs and turned to Frank,
“Frankieee, would you go and see to him please?”
Frank glared at him. The least Gerard could’ve done would be to go and see to him since Frank had looked after him all day. Not that he didn’t enjoy looking after his son, just that after a whole day of answering to his every need, Frank wanted a break from it. He got up sulkily and ignored Gerard as he’d reached his hand out to grab Frank’s in a way of saying thank you. He ran upstairs ad into their sons room before picking the baby up and cuddling him.
A few minutes later he heard Gerard walk in behind him,
“Frankie are you ok? I’ll take over for a minute if you want.”
“No it’s fine.”
“No, you’ve had him all day, I shouldn’t have asked you to come up to him.”
“No Gee, just go back down and carry on with your chat.”
“Really? Ok.”
Gerard turned and walked back out, not even thanking him or trying to find out what was wrong. Frank sat down in the chair next to Jaidons cot and held his son close, all the while trying to ignore the surge of jealousy running through him.
ahem. Frankie and Gerard ARE sexual gays. ;]] bahaha.
Chapter 246 Gerard walked back downstairs and sat in the chair opposite Simon. "So why did you move into the area?" asked Gerard looking at the teenage boy infront of him.
Simon smiled before opening his mouth "Well as I told you I lived in Chicago for most of my life but my dad got this new job promotion…" Simon continued talking about why he moved here but Gerard has lost his attention was staring at the boys lips as the moved with each word he spoke, then he let his eyes rise a little making them connect with the black rimmed eyes of the boy opposite him, his eyes were an amazing deep brown and the type of eyes you could get lost in without even releasing it.
Gerard hadn’t even realized he was staring and Simon had stopped talking until he noticed a slight uncomfortable expression on Simons face, but Gerard shrugged it off and smiled at the boy infront of him. "Would you like a drink?" asked Gerard slowly getting from his seat.
"Waters fine thanks" Smiled Simon, Gerard nodded and walked out of the living room and into the small kitchen. He reached up and got two glasses, filling them with water all the time his mind on the black haired boy in the next room. He let his mind water and forgot about the task he was doing until he felt the cold liquid start to trickle down his hand and wet his sleeve. He shook his head of the thoughts and turned the tap off, pouring a little of the water out of the glass and down the sink before walking out of the kitchen and back into the living room and taking a seat next to Simon on the small sofa handing him the drink "Thanks" said Simon politely taking the drink from Gerard and taking a sip.
"So do you know what school you’ll be going to in September?" asked Gerard placing his drink on the coffee table just infront of the sofa.
"St. Helenas" replied Simon taking another drink from the glass.
"Oh right, me and Frank used to go there, well were meant to be going back but we’re not, but a lot of our friends go there" smiled Gerard.
"Nice" said Simon, resting the cool glass on his thighs "How come you aren’t going back if you don’t mind me asking.
"Long story" said Gerard, his smile fading a little when he remembered that night that made them not able to go back "Lets just say some jocks were being dicks and I…. Well they deserved it"
"Oh" said Simon, finishing off the last of the water
"Hey do you fancy going to catch a film? I can give you the grand tour of the area on our way?"
"Ok that sounds good" smiled Simon showing off his perfect white teeth.
God, Gerard was beginning to like that smile.
"Awesome, let me just go tell Frank and grab my jacket" said Gerard rising up from his place on the sofa.
"Ok, I’ll just run home and grab some cash" said Simon standing up and placing the glass on the table.
Gerard nodded "Ok, I’ll meet you out front in 5 minutes"
Simon agreed and let himself out and ran the small distance to his house.
Meanwhile Gerard made his way up the stairs in order to find a jacket. He reached the top of the stairs and walked across the landing on the way to the bedroom but stopped halfway there and looked into the room next to him and saw Frank sitting in the chair next to the crib with their son in his arms holding him tightly.
Gerard walked into the small room with a smile on his lips and made his way over to his fiancée. "Hey" he said wrapping his arms around the smaller man.
"Hi" replied Frank with no emotion in his voice, not even bothering to look up to great his lover.
"Me and Simon are going to catch a movie then I’m going to show him around a bit, is that ok?" asked Gerard still not removing his arms from around Franks waist.
"That’s fine" said Frank, still with no emotion in his voice.
"Ok, I won’t be back late" smiled Gerard placing a light kiss on the top of Jaidon’s head before doing the same to Frank before walking out the room after shouting a quick goodbye when he’d grabbed his jacket and made his way outside to wait for his new friend.
Back inside the house, Frank hadn’t moved from his position on the chair, no emotion on his face. He was just staring blankly at the wall opposite, he stayed in this position for a few more minutes before remembering where he was. He stood up carefully and gently placed his sleeping son back into his crib kissing him gently, then making his way out of the dimly lit room and into the bright hallway and walking into their bedroom. Frank quietly closed the door behind him and made his way over to the large bed in the center of the room and gently lay down on the soft mattress and let his body curl itself into a ball at the top of the bed. Not bothering with the duvet, he just lay there and began to stare at a blank spot on the wall just like he had done when he was in Jaidons room, but this time emotion was there on his face and this time he felt the salty liquid leak from his eyes and make its way down his face, dampening the silky pillow.
Outside Gerard leaned against a brick wall, lighting up a cigarette whilst waiting for Simon, he didn’t have to wait long as he had only taken one drag before he saw the teenager running round the corner with a jacket in hand.
"Hey" smiled Simon as he came to a hault next to Gerard
"Hey, you ready?" said Gerard as he stomped out the cigarette and put the remainder back in the packet.
Simon nodded and slid on his jacket, smiling.
The two boys started walking in the direction of the movie theatre, Gerard insisting they go through the park on the way there so he could show Simon some of his favourite spots to hang out. They reached the park in no time at all and made their way over to a small patch of grass mostly hidden by some trees.
"I used to come here so much when I was a kid" said Gerard taking a seat on the grass in the shade of a large oak tree "I still do sometimes, it’s a really good place if you wanna just go somewhere and just think" Gerard smiled as he remembered all the times he had come here when he was a kid just to get away from all the stresses he had at home.
Simon nodded and sat down next to Gerard, leaning against the trunk of the large tree "I used to have a place like this back in Chicago, it wasn’t that nice though"
Gerard nodded, not bothered with a reply, he didn’t think he needed one. "So do you have many friends here in Jersey?" asked Gerard glancing to the side to look at his new friend, Simon had his head back leaning against the bark of the tree with his eyes closed, he looked so peaceful.
"Nope" replied Simon "I don’t have any friends here, I hadn’t even been here before we came to look at houses"
"That’s a blatant lie" said Gerard giggling to himself quietly.
"What do you mean?" asked Simon lifting his head from the tree and opening his eyes to look at Gerard.
"I’m your friend stupid" Smiled Gerard looking into the brown eyes that belonged to the black haired boy. Damn he really liked those eyes, he only just noticed Simon was staring straight back into his own hazel eyes. Before he knew it he felt himself getting closer to Simons, their faces only inches apart, Gerard could feel Simons breath on his lips, and before he knew it the gap closed and Gerard felt the soft lips belonging to the other boy on his own, but the moment only lasted a second as Simon pulled away.
"What are you doing?" asked Simon in shock
"I…um…" Gerard mumbled feeling himself going a slight shade of pink
"Gerard, I don’t know what to say, but I’m straight" said Simon looking at the teenager infront of him.
"Oh" said Gerard biting his lip, he couldn’t believe what had happened, why the hell did he just do that? Of course he hadn’t asked if Simon was gay or straight, it had never crossed his mind.
"Besides, what about Frank?" asked Simon looking at Gerard in the eyes.
"I…" Gerard began to speak but his mouth failed him, not being able to think of the right words to say.
"You need to talk to him Gerard, you have a son together" said Simon getting up and slowly walking away from the patch of trees.
Back at the house. Frank was still lying in the same position and the salty tears still falling from his eyes and running down his tear stained face, his gaze had now moved from the blank spot on the wall to out the window where he watched the grey clouds get darker and the rain start to pour alongside a fresh batch of tears, he even didn’t bother getting up when Jaidon started crying again, it just made him cry more. Jaidon was apart of Gerard, and right now that was the one person who was making him feel like he was. Franks eyes went from the window to the bedside table where a picture of him and Gerard lay. Frank reached out a hand and grabbed the photo bringing it back to him. He looked at the delicate features of Gerards face and outlined with gently with his finger and whispered to himself "I don’t want to loose you".
