i found lamictal very helpful, my only problem with it was that i experienced headaches (mind i already had them quite frequently, it just made it worse)
i feel very very bad right now. and i feel like im making a mountain outv a molehill...is bipolar disorder really this debilitating...or am i just over dramatic and pathetic?
lamotrigine kind of helped me. Well after a few months i wasnt depressed nor manic but had to stop taking it incase i got steven-johnsons syndrome thing xx
silent dancer - sorry your feeling so bad. and yes bipolar can be that debilitating, or at least in my experiance it can. sucks.
chaotic-resolve - sorry your team is so sh*t. my pyschs a total idiot. blames me for having a bad reaction to abilify, hes the one who insisted i try it. and i seem to know more about my meds then he does. ****. all the ones i've come across seem to be totally useless, annoying, rude and patronising. my mh nurses have been my saving grace! so sorry about your experiance. ergh.
Eclectic*a - I know how you feel. Hang in there. Are you seeing a psychiatrist? It seems like whatever treatment you're getting right now isn't doing its job, maybe you need more support, a change in medication, therapy if you're not getting any? I know it's difficult to talk about it, but you need to let them know how you're really doing. It's important.

Back from weekend with girlfriends, still feeling really stressed. Just need my brother out of my house :(
I need the space to myself, feel like crying, I supppose I shouldn't drink but *shrugs*
My moods are worse than ever. I'm happy for ten minutes, then I'm sad. It's exhausting. I'm going to see my psych tomorrow, so hopefully she can give me a new med. I was taking an anti-depressant and that made my moods go all over the place. Ugh, I hate being like this. I just wish it would go away. I was with my friend last weekend and she was so mad at me. I couldn't keep my moods under control and she was getting really annoyed. I don't want to lose my friends because of a stupid mood disorder. Ugh, dumb! Sorry. Just had to write it down...
sounds like everyones having a hard time. im seening my psych today...though im guessing he probly wont let me start a AD so soon (3weeks) after my stabaliser
im on sodium valproate which i think is mostly sposed to stop ther highs. he ended up putting me on fluoxetine aswell...so hopfully it wont make me manic...
Ok, well I'm being good and taking all my meds and I still feel like crap and want to curl up and dry all day. Going to sisters tonight cause I really can't face going back to my own place, just want to sleep all the time. Seen pdoc on Tuesday but I can't bring myself to tell him how I feel, he just says its me not the meds, so trying to get hold of CPN, but just feel useless. Thinking of giving up work, but I like working, but I can't cope with it and home and tiredness.
xx
PS my mum says 'its just in your nature to be tired, or its an excuse for laziness' how can she even say that to me!!

Reason: mum
starnite - is there any way you can just get some sick leave off work or something? instead of quitting all together?
silentdancer - how is the valproate? that was one of my options, but the side affects scared me off!
how is everyone feeling now?

I'm only back at work 4 months after a year off sick, one of my goal was o try and last 12monhs without taking time off due to my illness. I'm so worried I'm not going to make it now.
I am feeling better, I think my mum is trying to understand and she's going to come up on Tuesday o help me with the house which should help ease things for me.
oh starnite, i'm sorry. glad your mom is helping you with the house, it makes a huge difference. i'm not doing so well at the moment. a lot of stresful things, wich doesnt help as ongoing stress is a huge trigger for me, wish it was sending me up tho, that would be better. argh well, winge winge, sorry.

hello, i havent posted in here before but wasnt sure where else i should write this so here i am. firstly i dont have a 'proper' diagnosis yet but one disorder has been thrown around alot so just waiting for confirmation i think.
basically the reason i am writing is. how do other members deal with mood swings. both the physical and emothional exhaustion from going to one extreme to the other and also the effect it has on relationships/ work / education?
usually i can pull through but at the moment i am really struggling! :(
just looking for support/advice/tips.
hi cat,
sorry to hear that your stuggling. i'm not sure how i cope. should say how i coped. meds now even out the whole pendulam mood swings thing.
yeah i'm probably not the best person to give advice. i totally distroyed 2 relationships and put loads of other ones under strain!
if i think of anything i'll let you know.
sorry xxx
