Slumping against the radiator she felt her cheeks getting wetter and wetter as the tears ran down. As she pushed out the first pill and downed it with the water, she felt powerful, untouchable even. Taking another, and another, it was again as if none of this was really her; it was someone else pushing the small white tablets out of their casing, someone else reaching for the glass, someone else swallowing the painkiller. Painkiller, she thought, killer of pain, painkiller, help…Raising herself once more from her spot she moved towards the door, collecting together on her way the pills, along with an old half drunk bottle of water discarded once on her floor. Running down the stairs she had little time to throw on her shoes as she ran, once more, that fateful run to where her mother lay decomposed beneath her…

Come on Rosie, that’s a good girl, just sit up for your ol’ father, that’s good darling” “Ian, a glass of water.” The girl’s eyes drifted slowly open to the sight of her father’s face only inches from her own. “Here, have some of this.” She heard the familiar woman’s voice mutter to her side, and as her eyes focussed once more, she was met with the face of her ‘new mum’, no longer contorting to the face of her mothers. Taking the water, she glanced around at the small congregation of people all watching her. “I’m sorry, Dad.” “It’s okay darlin’ you just wait till you feel better yeh? Are we ready?” He directed his last question to the woman kneeling to the left of the girl, and the girl watched as her father married the new women in his life before her eyes…

As the girl sat there, she drunk and she took. Take, drink, take, drink, take, drink. The pattern followed around her mind as she said the words out loud, “take one and drink some, take one and drink some, take one and drink some.” She stared down at the grave beneath her, watching the blades of graze lean in the wind, cooling her. She shivered and read the words scrawled over the tomb stone for another time, the letters slightly dancing, her head slightly spinning. “Mum? Can you hear me? Are you even here? Or do I talk to an engraved stone every time I come here?” She laughed, as if sneering at the stone in front of her face. “They used to say if I came here I’d feel you with me. I haven’t ever ****ing felllllt you in years. Where’ve you gone eh? Moved on? Thought it was the best time to just leave? Hurt too much to be with me and dad did it? Mum I’m angry, and I don’t think I can count to 10 anymore.” Another tear dropped from the corner of her high onto the stone. “You just, left. You left me to cry, to feel, to feel ****ing alone. You just left me. You just…” Trailing off, the girl retraced the steps over again in her head of what she had just shouted; the words she had just screamed. She didn’t want to be her mother…

Lucy, **** off, I don't want to hear it's **** and long whether it is or not. You'll just put me in a bad mood and I have all of an hour and 20 minutes until I face my first dooming exam. So yes.
