I'm very cautious about giving personal details or posting photos on the internet...I had a scare a few years ago on another site and I think I'm probably a bit over the top now actually. I'm glad the Mods are being so careful about this...
I can see how it would be a really great thing though...

Due to the moderating team's concerns that members may already be using this thread as an unauthorised way of identifying other members who are interested in wanting a penpal and privately swapping names and addresses, this thread is now going to be locked.

Thank you all for your ideas, suggestions, and thoughts on RYL having some sort of a penpal scheme - I will be taking this discussion to the RYL staff now, and we will be discussing whether it is feasible for the RYL website to host penpal program that limits the potential dangers to our members (and the subsequent liability for this website).

Please allow the RYL staff a couple of weeks to discuss this idea, and if anyone has any additional suggestions or thoughts that were not mentioned on this thread, please PM a moderator who can make sure it gets passed along and mentioned on the RYL staff discussion thread about this.

Hey everyone ....

I just wanted to let you all know that we havent forgotten about this thread and where some members expressed their interest in RYL hosting a penpal scheme.

Since I last posted on this thread, the staff have been discussing whether there is a way that a penpal scheme for RYL members could be coordinated and managed safelyat this website - as safety is our main concern about this idea - but due to all the new changes that are currently going on at RYL with the Community Team and the main site, unfortunately we probably wont have an answer for you about this for at least a few more weeks.
