When I was younger, we were never allowed to put the tree up until Christmas eve! And it came down on January 6th. It was very sad. This is probably the direct cause of me being super-christmassy now, like a Christmas rebellion.

Stay alive, feed yourself well, wear comfortable clothes, and don't give up on yourself just yet.
It'll get better. Until then, have a day."
I got my first Christmas card over the weekend. It was from one of my neighbours. I think she was being premature but I can't complain. Anyone else had a Christmas card?

It's NOVEMBER. I mean, I'm all for organization and Christmas spirit but actually giving Christmas cards this early is ridiculous!

I got my first Christmas card on Friday, from one of my service users because I might not see her again before Christmas!
I then did most of my shopping on Sunday - top tip for anyone in manchester, the Trafford centre was hideous, shop online!
In other news, I can't find any wrapping paper that I like. Woe.

I dont put up the tree till mid december, ours is a real tree and if we put it up now it would be bald by christmas :p
I have a couple more gifts to get and then I am doooone. My boyfriends parents are the hardest, have no idea D:
I had real issues finding wrapping paper I like and even now I'm not sure how I feel about the stuff I have!

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
My sisters birthday is the beginning of Dec so we always put the tree up so she could have her birthday presents under it too (and mine later in the month). I used to get very disappointed when I wasn't allowed to put it up other family members birthdays at other times of year!
I booked my train ticket home for Christmas yesterday!! Can now begin to get excited!
I find it odd that most of you seem to have fake trees. In denmark its normal to have real trees and you can buy many different kinds everywhere. The smell is amazing. Ive never had a fake tree.
In my family we put the tree up two days before christmas eve but i put mine at home up the beginning of december and enjoy it all month and water it to keep it somewhat fresh. And then i go home on the christmas days to celebrate with family and thats when we put up their tree.
As a kid we would have a HUGE tree all december and then go to my grandparents for christmas eve but they are all gone now unfortunately.
We also walk around the tree holding hands and sing christmas carols on christmas eve after dinner but before we get presents. Ive been told you dont really do that in england. We have loads of nice traditions.
Im planning what bake for christmas and other sweet goods to make. Going to decorate on december first and make decorations as i do every year. And listen to christmas songs. Im also going to watch the polar express and a christmas cartoon film i see every year. And the calender that we have on tv where theres an episode every day for 24 days.
I also have my traditional christmas shopping day with mum where we buy presents and go at my favourite restaurant for dinner. We have been doing it for many years now. :)
Im looking forward to it. I absolutely love christmas but dont start until december. Then i go all in :D

My gifts from my parents were all ordered last night so I'm very happy and my shopping is going great, I have loads of presents bought already. I guess I won't be here so I'm wishing you all a very happy Christmas. Eat, drink and be merry!
We usually put up our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, not the one right after but the next week. Sometimes we get it a little later but never later than mid-December. We always get a real tree because it smells amazing and gets me even more into the Christmas spirit. :)
My inner baker is going to go wild as it does each year, multiplied further than the rest of the year. My mom makes these amazing cardamom wafer cookies and twisted peppermint cookies in the shape of candy canes. Usually I wow everyone with my sweet potato pie, but I'm looking to be more adventurous this time around. I love making weird combinations that end up being spectacular. A lot of my friends barely even cook so I guess they are thankful for my skills.
Does anyone have a favorite Christmas food or dessert, by the way? I'm in love with peppermint anything obviously, but I'm also particular to snickerdoodles. My mom hates them so we joke and I threaten to fill the kitchen with them.

Lebkuchen are, to me, the most Christmas flavour you can get they just ooze Christmas! I love them lots and lots!
I am going to write a christmas poem but I am trying to decide at the moment what the content is and if it is going to be spoken word or other.
One cool idea for crimbo was making loads and loads of snowballs out of white wool. You tie them in a ball and then wrap it round itself then fray two edges. Perfect for an indoor snowball fight!!!
We always eat duck on christmas eve with potatoes, potatoes coated in sugar, gravy and such. I get it ones a year and its amazing. Mum makes an amazing duck. My sisters fiance will spend the christmas with us for the first time which will be nice.
Cinnamon is one of the spices we use a lot when baking for christmas. But there are others that are very christmassy that i dont know the english names of.
What we call pebernødder, brunkager, vanilie kranse are some of the traditional christmas cookies. We also make things out of marzipane and nougat and chocolate. Often we put nuts and raisins in as well.
I will be making some of the traditional christmas candy and cookies but with a bit of a twist and some mire advanced things i think.
Going to a christmas market at a midieval castle on the last sunday of november with my boyfriend. Cant wait :) there will be a market here where i live on saturday that i will go to as well.
Im starting to make a plan for all the things i need to do and bake in december. I will also be making some things to Put the cookies in so i can give them as presents to the people i love. Im also buying a few boxes for the purpose.
Then i need to buy wrapping paper and all kinds of beautiful things i can use for that. (Wrapping is a BIG deal to me) :p it will be a busy but wonderful time. Cant wait. :)

Real trees always seem like a great idea, but they are so much more expensive, more mess (depending on the type you get), more hassle, and modern fake trees look just as good, if not better, and they last for a good few years.
I managed to find a small, female penguin soft toy. Yay, Tesco! And then to the wrapping, which I find really relaxing.
You can get certain types of trees very cheap here. And the one i normally have isnt really messy even when its up all of december. I have never seen a fake one as pretty as a real and its doesnt have the smell. For me it wouldnt be the same if it was fake. But thats just me. Plus i like going through the trees every year. Selecting the perfect one.
As a kid my family and i made a trip out of going out and chopping a tree down ourselves. It was lovely and i have very good memories regarding that.
So i guess for me, selecting tree etc. Is a special thing and part of christmas. And i love the feel of a real tree. And remiving the lower branches and use for decorations.
