Has anyone ever heard of vicarious menstruation? Basically bleeding from other areas at the same time as you have a period. I always have a nosebleed on the first day, I never have nosebleeds at any other time it's odd.
I haven't but I once had a period, several heavy nose bleeds and coughing up blood at the same time and worried it was two of my meds, combined causing a clotting problem...
Hmm.
Tampons WIN. I hate feeling ickky with pads. And I swear tampons are cheaper.
I thought I'd gotten rid of periods for good with my Implanon, but it turns out the reason for not having them was something else. I wasn't best pleased when I realised this last year. Moon cups freak me out. I swear I couldn't get one of those in there. And don't they 'rotate???'

Well i have the injection and skipped my period this month so i assume i won't be getting many anytime soon, but i use tampons. Pads have always felt unclean for me (germaphobe), and i worry about leaks if they're placed funny/i'm sat at a weird angle.
Rarely on here nowadays - I just trauma dump on TikTok instead.
I want to try the cups when i start having my period again.
Best part about being pregnant: no period.
Although the only thing that you don't have is the bleeding. you still get some cramping and being overemotional. Now I just feel like I'm PMSing all the time.
Whatever it is, you can get through it. I promise.

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
People use natural sea sponge during their period yes, it's been used for many years. I've never used one personally but apparently they're soft, comfortable and reusable for around three to six months. You can also trim them to fit your personal body shape. This explains it a bit more; http://www.jadeandpearl.com/catalog/...products_id=18
I've never spoken to anyone who has used one though, I was wondering if anyone who has used one likes/doesn't like it for any reasons.
I just saw this post and clicked on your link....and I'm absolutely horrified by it. I've never used one, but what about germs??? Sponges are like bacteria farms....I'm already horrified by sponges used to wash dishes, and people actually stick them up...there....like a tampon? D:

I believe there are several ways to sterilise the sponge which is listed on the site. I suppose you'd rinse it and clean it like a moon cup, although this material moon cups are made from is naturally resistant to any sort of bacterial growth/germs etc.
I use pads personally, I find with my personal anatomy that many tampons etc are too large and uncomfortable, so I just use pads.
I wanted to make a separate thread, but didn't want to overrun GC with periods, so I shall just ask here! Is anyone else menstruating right now? Lucy has had to be sacked as my period buddy, so I need a new one :p
