There was this forensic man on GMTV this morning and he basically said why all the accusations against the McCanns could be wrong.
1. The DNA in the bonnet could have been from anything of hers that they put in there, toys etc.
2. The traces of blood found in the apartment could have been her grazing her knees or whatever as small children do. The dogs didn't smell death in there and apparently they can for ages after.
3. The police were suggesting they could have killed her between half past 8 and 9PM during that meal but if they had how could they have got her out of the building and stuff without people noticing.
It’s not always that easy to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys,
Sinners can surprise you and the same is true for saints.
Why do we try to define people with simply good or simply evil?
Because no one wants to admit that compassion and cruelty can live side by side in one heart and that anyone is capable of anything.
I have the most awful feeling that I'm going to be going over and over and over this when I get back to uni.
The police have certain "numbers" that they need to maintain to get money, not solving this case is costing them money, man power, time and resources. It's costing LOTS of forces, LOTS of money. It's a LOT easier for them to accuse someone and get a prosecution then it is to drag this out.
Statistically, she's probably, sadly, dead.
Statistically, they're going to get a lot of false leads.
The papers are going to exaggerate pretty much everything that's done, said, and suspected, because that's what they do. They want to sell papers.
Sadly, I think this case has turned into more of a "find a suspect and charge them" case, instead of a "find Maddy" case. She's been missing for months, without a strong lead to finding her, it doesn't reflect well on the police does it?
"Watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it."
You said that all cells contain the same DNA, which isn't strictly correct, but I don't think a dicussion of human genomics is terribly relevant to the rest of the thread so I'll leave it at that.
I think...it's just really sad.
Sure, there are reasons she might have done it.
But....I dunno, it just seems like such silly ideas they are coming up with.
I don't think we'll ever really know what happened to her.
It's true.
I mean, in London, they'd have been caught on CCTV.. Anywhere else & it doesn't seem to be in the right places.
Then again, I guess killers/abductors/whoever would do their best to go to areas without CCTV, etc..
A. the parents should be charged anyway, they left 3 very young children alone in a foriegn country, without any supervison, that's neglate. it's very wrong.
B. i agree with what's been said, if it was an accident why not admit it? instead of kicking up such a hue and cry that everyone can see?
We're half way there, woo-oh,
living on a prayer, take my hand, we'll make it i swear,
