Well ive seen the proof that she is as ill as being stated.
it was even stated in her discharge papers that she will die if she carries on.
they are **** as is being said.
i dont get it myself, i dont know why she wasnt sectioned when she was in the damn hospital, i dont know why they are practically leaving her to die, but thats whats going on.
If they don't see her til the 18th, how are they going to know how she's doing? She's very very ill, it's scary, and if you don't believe her, thats your problem. Not mine, not Hel's not Sar's, and they don't need people to be doubting them. Two things.
1. Why the HELL would either of them be lying about this?
2. Do you think doubting her, saying shes not ill enough, is going to be helping her?
3. This is meant to be a SUPPORT site. If you have nothing supportive to say, don't say it.
if you think you know me in real life, no you don't.
Nobody is being un supportive in my eyes. Everyones approach is valid. You dont have to agree with it. Nobody is accusing anyone of lying.
As far as I can see, people are only agreeing with the fact it makes no sense, so dont jump to conclusions please and dont lecture other people who really are trying to help, albeit not in the way you would do so.
Helen, I imagine you are seeing your GP regularly and if not, please make regular appointments for them to keep a check on your physical health. I have no doubt if your vitals become unstable your GP can admit you to a medical ward if nescessary. Its not just the CMHT who are able to do this. Keep working with what you do have.
I lived in Wales for 7 years and I've found that the mental health professionals were good. I was strongly recommended to admit myself to a mental health ward (they would have sectioned me otherwise, they stated so) when I was suicidal. My family have had nothing but good things to say about the mental health care I recieved. I live in England now and long for the care I had in Wales. I'm on long waiting lists etc. I don't see Wales as being any worse than anywhere else. Considering I was almost sectioned I can't see why you aren't being sectioned as a fellow Wales inhabitant.
They must not, somehow, understand the severity of the situation.
I'm sorry I don't know what else to say other than I sincerly hope you get the help you need.

"Considering I was almost sectioned I can't see why you aren't being sectioned as a fellow Wales folk."
noone else does either.
not all professionals are the same, everyone knows that, you get **** ones, and a lot of people have said bad things about the care around there, im glad you had positive experiences though, i wish hel would be sectioned, bad as that sounds, but thats how bad things are.
I was just saying that I can't see how she's not getting the care she needs, I was living in a very sparsely populated area of Wales, Powys, where mental health care was fairly hard to come by. Has anyone put complaints in writing? If there is a written complaint stating the care Helen is recieving isn't any stretch of the imagination good enough someone will do something. Being her partner you must have some rights to demand a decent level of care (sorry I don't totally know the ins and outs) I know my mother was able to get my waiting list cut down (by making a complaint)so that's all I have to go on.
EDIT I wasn't meaning putting a complaint in writing then several weeks you'd hear back. For my situation it was very quick, that's the reason I mentioned it because it was quick and I thought the less time that goes by the better in Helen's case

Because I don't live with or near her it's near impossible to do anything until I am with her (next time will be the 29th) & even then it's for 5 days.
Hel will be able to see all this so she can answer this herself, but I don't think any complaints have been put in, could I do that?
As far as I can see anyone who has a close connection with her could make a complaint as long as you have a valid reason for complaining. And as far as I can see there's none more valid. It might be worth trying to make a formal complaint against Helen's mental health team stating that you're her fiance although you live apart at the moment you're still her fiance, and as such you know she isn't recieving the care she needs.
If you make an urgent complaint it might light a fire underneath people and make them realise it's something that really needs to be addressed. I hope I'm not being too intrusive I'm just trying to scratch my head and try to help that's all.
Sorry to keep posting but my mom took it upon herself to complain about my waiting time to see a psychologist and it got cut down by 6 months. I just thought if you and maybe Helen's mother or a close friend made a formal complaint it might make Helen's mental health team more focused on helping her like they're supposed to. It might be if you kick up enough stink they'd really get on and do something. It's just a suggestion but it might work. I really hope you find something that works for Helen, she doesn't deserve such a hard time, no one does.
no worries, don't be afraid to say it like it is, you can write "every moment I'm writing this is another moment Helen is going without care she needs and being ignored by her mental health team" I'm not saying it will do the trick but it might help. My mom complained about my mental health team (I was on an 18 month waithing list she basically said I won't be here in 18 months and it got cut down to a year) But in the end it was less than a year. I really hope something can be done, I think even if people try and ignore you if you make yourself enough of a bother to them, writing them and calling and such, they will be more motivated to do something. I know no one should have to resort to making themselves a bother but I guess it's just the way it is sometimes, bl*ody health system. I really hope you get some results from this, I'm not promising anything will happen it's just an option :)

Reason: added some more rambles
quick to assume that as in the past few months people have doubted helens severity of how ill she is & thats what your post to me sounded like it was getting at,
"they are not ignorant enough to not section someone who is as ill as it being stated."
" if she was on death's door they would have sectioned her by now. Pure protocol"
Sounds like doubting Hel to me, dunno about you.
so im confirming that yes, she is as ill as being said, and yes, the professionals are as **** as being said.
ducky, thank you so much for those suggestions, they really are helpful, ive already done a letter to them regarding sectioning her, but im going to start on a formal complaint asap, i will probably complain when im at hers so i can get a form and all, do you need a form? ive no clue how this works...
I have a huge tendency to down play things when I talk to someone face-to-face. In the past, I wrote a long letter outlining my issues, what my days were like, etc & they were quick to get me admitted to hospital. In a way, no they do not know how bad things are.
Since I discharged myself, my care plan has been very much 'up in the air' as its been unclear what's going on. My team only received my discharge letter from hospital last week. My psych has begin to take me through the same process I went through when I was being admitted last time without saying I'm going to be admitted. She has been doing her very best not to scare me as she knows I will shut off & refuse any contact with anyone. We've agreed that although I'm not ready to recover yet, we are going to work on keeping me stable & possibly being admitted on a regular bases. (This is what she has said to me) However, nothing has been 'put in writing', all I've heard regarding sectioning is what my CPN said to my Mum over the phone.
Sarah - If you contact Helen's CPN or her main mental health care giver they will be able to advise you on what to do. You'll probably get a form to fill in but they should tell you the name of the main person who deals with complaints so it might be an idea to write a letter addressed to them as well as filling in the form. You'd probably just get a standard complaint for and since it's pretty urgent I'd recommend writing to the person who deals with complaints. It might be a manager of a complaints team or something. It'd probably be wise to keep copies of any correspondance and keep a note of when you send things off etc.
I admire your strength with everything.
Helen I can understand playing things down, I tend to do that with my situation, I really hope you can get some decent care soon.
I don't think anyone is doubting anything, and to assume that and then jump on them only leads to people getting defensive. Which doesn't help anything.
If you (both of you, as well as Helen's family) find the professionals so bad, then complain. And I'm sure one of you could ask for her to be sectioned, but I'm not sure of the ins and outs of it all. Whilst complaining on here about how rubbish you find them, it's not really constructive or productive.
Helen, I understand that you downplay things, but if you want help you really need to start talking to the professionals. And then you need to start accepting their help. It's not easy, but it's what you need to do.
It is strange though that there are people who have never met Helen clamouring for her to be sectioned with arms up in the air about the injustice of it all. How on earth can they really know how Helen is unless they've read how some other people may have described how they think she is and jump on the bandwagon.
No matter how c**p a health authority/care team may be, they are not going to want to let their patients die. Think of the legal costs to them, potential court cases etc. I can't see them leaving Helen to die.
Just my opinion. Im allowed to have one so don't all jump down my throat
