Dammit - I spent about a month looking for someone to go to see him with in Leeds or Manchester, I would've asked you along!
I think you'll like his solo stuff if you like Screaming Trees. It's got a bit more of a blues sound to it, and certainly has a darker tone to it, but it's great stuff. I'd suggest starting with Whiskey for the Holy Ghost or Bubblegum :)
