I could never write a play.
all that detail and description left out. no back story save what the characters say. everything simple and precise with no long rambling paragraphs, unless that's dialogue of course.
scripts are something beyond me. I respect those who have the ability to write them.

plus if you write, and then direct your own plays, you can develop the characters and subplots, without the need to write as much, you can add lines, movements and gestures to emphisise or show something that is not neccicarily down in the text
We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves.
developing plot is something you pick up later down the line.
for the most part the story writes itself. after you've gotten to know your character you know what they'd do in certain situations, what they'd say and everything. by the end it ends up writing itself and the hardest part is bringing the story to a close. because you don't want these people, who've become friends in a way, to stop. Because that means they'll leave.
I never like saying goodbye to characters after getting to know them so well. I often try and think up new books for them. just to spend time with them again.

5 novels. 5 different main characters.
I know them so well I could tell you how every one of them would act in any situation.
but with 30 novels waiting to be written I doubt I'll be able to keep track of all my characters in a few more years.

start with starbucks. it's a nice setting.
now grow from there. who's in there, why are they in there. what are they waiting for, if anything.
