Nope sis, but I think my psych was going to do it with me however I backed out before she could as she was very confrontational regarding the OCD behaviors/thoughts etc. Going to see her again after a year and a half of not seeing her on the 29th about a lot going on and what can be done/what exactly is going on with me.
Hello everyone. I've not been in here before, but I've recently been told that I'm at risk of developing OCD and thought this would be a good place to meet other people the same.
I can't exactly explain it. I have many compulsions and thoughts I can't explain, and don't always want to because people just like to take the piss. It's mainly revolving around certain numbers, claiming that things are "safe" or "not safe", keeping lists, doing things at/for certain times otherwise something "bad" will happen, and having things in their "right" place.. to name a few.
Hey Sarah I am glad that they have noticed that you are at risk and hopefully can now help you before it is fully developed. Well done for opening up to people about thoughts and compulsions as I know how hard it can be to tell someone.
Amy x
'Cause I'll always remember you the same.
Oh eyes like wild flowers within demons of change ♥
Just a lot of crap going through my mind and it's like my mind never stops thinking and obsessing over some things and having really distressing thoughts/images/impulses.
Hi i'm new here, OCD is my main problem i've always had it but now it's getting worse. I like everything to be even, and my parents don't get it at all because they think that if they make something uneven it will help and I try to tell them thats not the way to go about it. I also have recently become afraid of getting bit by something (well mostly spiders) and I can't sleep because I'm too worried about it. and blinking lights really really bother me (mostly on cars) and I don't know what to do about any of it.
My parents used to think that making my OCD go off would make it better, it took some time for them to realise otherwise, and that I had to do it in my own time. Perhaps if just telling them it doesn't help doesn't work, you could try and work out a compromise, say you challenge it in a way that's easier for you, and in return they don't interfere?
The best way to go about it is a little bit at a time, value the small achievements.
I'm new on the post, sorry. I agree that small steps are the way to go though. I just got out of inpatient and they were trying to stop a whole ton of compulsions at once at first and it freaked me out so bad that they changed their minds. For the record, I have way, way more obsessions than compulsions, and the compulsions I have take an estimated six hours a day to complete when I don't cut, which is what I was in the hospital for.
this is my magical medicine cabinet. Left to right they contain: courage, hope, calmness, and strength.
The magical part: They NEVER run out, so borrow some any time you want.
Hey guys, hope you are all coping ok at the moment.
I'm not really doing so good. My dissociative disorder is spiralling out of control. I'm starting to get a grip over my anorexia but as a result everything else is getting worse. The OCD is getting more prominent and I'm so sick of doing all the bloody tasks all the time.
