I posted this on another site yesterday (I did say I didn't write it and it was from here) and got people having a go at me. It's so sad that some people don't understand self-harm. Apparently it helped some people though so I'm pleased. I think it's an excellent post and I wish I'd read it before I'd started.

*Bumps cause of what Kim said!* Im very sorry to hear about that Pixiedust. Some people are so ignorant. Any of the SI related videos on Youtube have a couple of nasty comments on the bottom of them. Its horrible. *Squishes*

I read this when i was younger and had just started self harming but wasn't doing it regularly. I didn't believe that it could that bad, 5 years on I can't believe I didn't listen to it more. That is so accurate it is almost scary.

What do you guys think of showing this to someone who doesn't self harm, just a friend, to help them understand the severity of it and all the connotations? Or is it a bit too shocking to just try and help them understand and there are better ways?

it's funny, i never enjoyed cutting.in fact, i really hate the feeling of blood running down my arms; it was just a satisfying feeling, like that of accomplishment.

I must have you!"
