but he didnt look right - where was the moustash and the fattness. he didnt look quite right to me

Does it REALLY matter whether or not he had a tash or whether or not he was fat? Let me remind you that Dudley is meant to be blonde, Harry's meant to have green eyes, Hermione is meant to have properly bushy hair, Harry is also meant to be really tall when in fact Daniel Radcliff is kinda tiny etcetc. So what? It doesn't make a big difference.
the tash is mentioned a good few times, it added to his walrus appearence, which is how hes described. little detail but it was a big deal to his character in how i viewed him

...Harry's green eyes are gone on about by practically every character in every single book and is a big deal to his character yet you know...he has blue eyes. Still don't see why it matters. He was obviously the best man for the part, he went through auditions and everything so yeah, he was obviously the best sort of Slughorn out there.
I don't care how bad it's said to be, I still can't wait. For Bellatrix.
Ahem.
Yeah.
Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.
am i the only one who just thinks tom felton looks ill most of the time? not just in the movie (which was fitting because he was under stress and whatnot) but in real life too.
anyway, yeah. incomparable to the books. i must say the films have excelled a great amount since the 4th one. that was awful. i think this film is not as good as the last one.

He has a bit of a yellow-y tinge to his skin...so yeah, I spose I agree....
I think...I think I like the 4th one the most, it was like the biggest turning point in the series, and the movie was well-done.
Ya.

to whoever originally said it, bellatrix at the end trashing hogwarts was a really nice touch.
also. was that not the burrow which was blown up/set on fire? i wasn't really impressed by that whole sequence. but the bit where the camera pans over molly's face as she watches her house burn was kindof heartbreaking.
i though emma watson/hermione was pretty good too. except i am so sick of the movies sidelining ron CONSTANTLY. he is always used as light humour and although he is funny & clumsy in the books the movies have exagerrated that so much and ron is possibly my fave character out of the series and the movies don't seem to do him any justice at all.
i also expected slughorn as fatter but i think as a whole the part was played well.
there are so many tiny little things that i didn't like / i wanted them to include but all in all, i still liked it.
also. does anybody know how the deathly hallows part 1 & 2 is gunna be released?
i was having a conversation about it with my friend yesterday & is like part 1 gunna come out one summer & then part 2 in a years time?
i was hoping maybe they would just get released at the same time & there would be special extended showings of it so you could just watch deathly hallows for like 5 hours.
I thought they were going to do one and then have a year and then do the other. That seems...sensible in a way...?

Just saw it yesterday and as a fan of the books I wasn't really impressed. My friend (who gets all his HP knowledge from me) was confused and even he was disappointed.
There was so much important stuff missed out that I don't really know how they're going to incorporate it into the next films. Just one thing I can think of right now is the complete lack of Horcrux knowledge that Harry has. Dumbledore never told him anything about the cup or Nagini or anything.
Also, the Burrow sequence, wtf?! I understand that it's a film and they need to make it eye-catching and interesting, but at least follow the book slightly.
There were lots of little things that got to me, things that would have been really easy to do (like Felix being gold rather than clear). The film wasn't really an adaptation of the book at all, so much was changed. A lot of things weren't explained so people who haven't read the book would be confused by a lot.
I've never been to the cinema to see a Harry Potter, but my family are dragging me on an outing so i'll look forward to a lacklustre adaptation i think, hopefully it shall entertain though!

Oh hey, I also realized, Lavender Brown's name.... WAS NOT ONCE MENTIONED IN THE MOVIE! WTF????
Would it have been that hard for SOMEONE to say who she was?
More complains to come...

Oh geez. Guys, seriously if you're going to compare the movie to the book and whine about it, go somewhere else? It's not as good as the book. It's not possible for them to put all the stuff in the book in the movie! And Harry knows about Horcrux's. It'll be fine. But if you can't watch a movie as a movie and expect it to be the book magcally transformed into the movie... then you're never going to enjoy anything and you should probably not watch adaptations cause you'll get disappointed.
The movie as a movie was great. I'm seeing it again tomorrow.

i want to see it again, its was really good.
i spent film five trying to compare to the book all the time and you just cant. You should appreciate the films for what they are, although some bits bugged me the film was still bloody good.
I agree that it's not possible to put all the stuff from the book into the film, but I think for this film they relied too much on people having read the book. For those who haven't read the book there is so much left unexplained. I had to basically go through the entire film and explain who was who and what was happening to my friend.
Film-Harry knows only of the diary, ring and locket. He knows nothing of their histories. He doesn't know anything about any of the others. And the making of Deathly Hallows into two films is nothing but a money spinner in my mind.
I think it was Kim (Bitter Angel) who said earlier that they should have replaced the fire at the Burrow with the battle at the end. I completely agree with that. Bellatrix smashing everything up was good, but there was so much more potential there.
I am a huge fan of the Narnia books and really, really enjoy the film versions. They're very well done and can be watched by anyone without too much explanation required.
I love Helena Bonham Carter, so i'm looking forward to seeing more of her as Bellatrix!
