I know it's only a show & I know it's all blown out of proportion all the time, but honestly, if they were trying to demonstrate bpd it was dire and has only pushed stigma backwards. The girl called herself a sociopath, yet her diagnosis was borderline?
"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?" - Alice, Alice in Wonderland

NO...they might do something if you complain, they definitely WON'T do anything if you don't. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain. I watched the episode but missed the reference to BPD as I had to have it on quiet while I was revising.
"Keep your heart open to dreams. For as long as there's a dream, there is hope, and as long as there is hope, there is joy in living."
I know this isn't related but I was looking at the BBC website and linked from Casualty to something self-harm based and RYL is referenced as a place to go :) I didn't know that.
I wasn't so keen on this episode. It portrayed BPD badly. It did shake me up a bit.
Well I think it's okay that people watch a programme they enjoy but disagree with one of the portrayals in it. Casualty often does mental health issues relatively well, but I'm not sure this was one of them.

Agreed. You're allowed to say that you dislike something on the show.
I felt that the last two mental health storylines (the BPD one and the one involving Hannah/Polly) weren't portrayed amazingly well, to be honest.
Hoping that the show is a bit brighter next week :)
I was glad she left on a happy note. I think they could have done a lot more with her character though. I know she had the big storyline but there was so much more to her character. I think they totally forgot as well that she was actually a mental health nurse! That's what she came in as, a psych liason and there was very little mention to this.
I'm wondering just who is leaving in this next episode. They seem to be keeping it quite tightly lipped. Please, please, don't be Zoe!!!!
Kirsty is leaving to have a baby so she may return?
It's the end of the series this saturday!

I was wondering where the break had gone. It's not usually on in the summer, yet it's August and it's still on. I was gutted when Kirsty left, who am I gonna give doe eyes to in a nurse's uniform now?
I wasnt a fan but more cause the storyline was piss poor

Dylan makes me laugh. That was so funny when Big Mac was telling that joke and everyone went quiet when Kirsty came along and he just came out and said 'it's because your husband used to beat you up'. I know it's not a laughing matter, but it was the blunt way he said it.
