Real thrashing Bayern.

It became like a sort of prison. Encased in a silver shell, words so full of bleeding need spilled like drops on dry leaves. And all the while laughter prevailed a long way from here. Nowhere land, nowhere time, nowhere space.

Hope Atheltico win, couldn't stand seeing Real win yet again.

Absolutely devastated about Liverpool, really thought it was their year.

Great cup final that, feel bad for the Hull fans though, I've been at 3 different finals at Wembley and lost every time, it's an incomparably ***** feeling!
Nice for Rambo to get the cup he deserves.

I got the day wrong for the La Liga title race and was basically stuck in the library and missed both that and the FA final. It's been a terrible season for Barca and maybe it's just as well I missed it. Both matches were supposed to be decent enough.

ME! Another excuse to not study. It would also be an excuse for a cold low fat beer :) I hope my tv reception comes back cos it's not great at the moment. It should be great, I will follow the old faithful of Spain! And yeah it's good your team stayed up cos then you always have hope for next season.

Is it me or is there no hype for the World Cup? It may be cos Ireland didn't qualify but you would think there would be more about it.

I don't think the protests in brazil help, neither the fact that their stadiums seem to be a cutting it really close with the deadline.

this is the first world cup i'm not interested in since 1990, when i was too young to care. i think the fact that people are protesting because money is being used for stadiums instead of schools, hospitals, houses etc makes a lot of sense to me.

we hosted the world cup last time, and i was one of the few who were duped into thinking it was a great thing for our country, but the amount of money wasted could have solved at least half of our social problems.

Are you in South Africa? That was where the last one was? Yes you are right in saying that they should organize the money situation better. It also seems crazy the amount of wages footballers get paid. I will enjoy watching it though all the same.

Well that's ok too! I think here in Ireland we are so sick of being let down by the national team that people don't even bother supporting them anymore. It just seems like constant disappointment.

yep.

i should correct my original post though. i said i was one of few who was duped. i should have said one of many.

i know it's great to spread the game around, but if it means you have to postpone solving your own countries problems by needing to host a wc, then perhaps you shouldn't host it in the first place.

i really don't know why england and australia were overlooked for the next two wc's. i can only think the extensive infrastructure needed in russia and qatar will make it easier to make more cash corruptly, like they did with our stadiums.

yeah i know footballers get paid way too much. i have no problem with the football itself, but the wasting of money that surrounds it is a bit ridiculous.
