it's more a sequel than a film version of the book

I didn't like Alice in Wonderland much either, I liked the tea party scene, everything else was meh. And THAT line... i'm sure you know which bit i'm talking about -.-
Cartoon >>>>>>>>>>>>> Film!
Which line?

I know it isn't an adaptation of the tale, but I was expecting a lot more, it had no sense of coherency (I know that isn't the point of Wonderland) but it seemed a randomized collection of scenes and characters for the sake of them being there as opposed to serving the story. It just felt hollow to me and I didn't feel the start had much point, if it did, it was disappointingly sparse imo.
The visuals were beautiful but I felt no one had any time to shine or at least compete with that aspect. I like Burton but this was not a good watch for me personally.

that;'s your new nickname G-babz. you're gangsta now.
Oddly enough, Hannah (Ghosts in Snow) accidentally called me that ages ago and determined I was a gangsta xD
I don't mind you liking it, Adam. I really don't. I just didn't. What was the final nail in the coffin was him admitting he's never even read the books.

so why should time make a movie when he's never read the book?

i've never sat down and read the books either. I own them, just not read them. All I know about them is the multitude of films that exist.

I'm guessing you mean "why shouldn't he make a movie when he's never read the book?"?
And because, it doesn't make any sense. Why base a film on something if you've never read the source material?
Say you bought a book out and some director wanted to make a film based on events after the book, but had never read your book beforehand, just went on the "jist" of what he felt the book was about?
I have read parts of Through the Looking Glass but not fully sat down and read yet as it's fallen behind a ton of stuff on my to be read pile.
