I nominate this week's winner as effervescence for her entry:

"Empirical maths problems are the heinous invention schoolkids execrate."

It's intelligent and clever and uses words not often seen on RYL in their proper context but, please:

1. Don't assume I'm any sort of expert on the English language.

2. Don't think it's necessary to use long or different words to win this competition. Simplicity/ingenuity/ humour will be everything.

So, many congratulations to effervescence who, if she'll PM me with a name and address to send to, will get her prize ...

And, perhaps with the simple logic which is all I'm capable of, the word for next week's competition is effervescence. Answers by 8pm UK time next Sunday - same rules as before, but now the number of letters are increasing ...

Good luck,

Tony.

Never surrender.

Yes, Stellata, and commas, full stops, colons, semi-colons etc. But the overall sentence has to hang together ....

And wait until we get onto the Xs and Zs!
