It's not necessarily an ongoing 'joke'. It was called the emo room a couple of times and it just stuck. You can rename Room 2 if you want, we're hardly going to get offended and make a thread about it. You could even call it "Idiotic twats who refuse to get offended even though we try to offend them after they offend us with a three letter word that we COULD try and not let bother us, but we do anyways because in Room 4, we enjoy the drama llama Room".
Don't think that would bother me. Anyone else? You could even try "The full of emos who use distraction and humour to deflect the fact they are emo and just try to have a laugh for the evening instead of crying and woeing all over Chat about being so emo Room".
Because, us in Room 2, we are actually quite emo a lot of the time. BUT. The way we deal with it is we turn serious situations into humorous ones so they don't look so bleak and hard to deal with. I actually use Room 4 sometimes when I'm having an off day and refer to myself as 'emo' when I feel like this. It is NOT an offensive term. If I meant it as an offense, I wouldn't use it to describe myself surely?
We are not stereotyping you as individuals, we are stereotyping the feelings we get when bad things are happening. Think about 'emo' style music? Pretty depressing lyrics, no? That's all we mean by it. I make this point each and every time this discussion is brought up and it's getting ridiculous now.

Well, I spend time in both rooms. I don't know whether I am an "emo" or a "chav". I feel that my avatar reflects this problem. :P I am so desperate to fit in. Woe.
