I wouldnt mind the guy who plays Adam in Spooks, his name is Rupert Penry-Jones to be the next Doctor. Though tbh if I had my way David Tennant wouldnt leave for ages yet, or at all.

I think an American Doctor would be interesting. and since Johnny Depp hasn't aged in the last 20 years they could have him around for decades.

There's also Sean Bean, Orlando Bloom or Jude Law.
Although maybe their names are too big.
Doctor Who has a bit of a history of hiring smaller actors from stage or TV. so maybe not.
