I've been to a lot of local band's shows, but I'm going to list big names atm...

First gig: Lilith Fair in middle school. (lol - now I listen to grindcore. )

Worst gig: Android Lust. I like Shikee's music, but she does NOT interact with the audience at all.

Best gig: This is hard. My favorite gigs would have to be Jesu & Isis, Pelican, The Dillinger Escape Plan....

Last gig: My friend's band. Before that was Pelican I think...or maybe a local crust punk band? I can't remember....

upcoming gigs: I want to see Pelican (3rd time!) in Chicago in December...

F*cking Pig Destroyer should tour the midwest. \m/ <3 JR & Scott Hull. Neurosis too!

I might post all the shows I can recall later if I get bored...

I saw Jesu at Damnation festival on Saturday, they were really amazing, the entire atmosphere was perfect, the venue had a glass ceiling so could see out into the night, it had a stone floor with steps towards to back where I was sitting and they had a video backdrop of forests, It really felt like I was watching them outside.

Anyways I also saw Green Day on Monday. I am terrible at taking pictures but as you can tell I got close.

Dear God,
the only thing I ask of you,
is to take care of my hero
with that little piece of heaven
such a surreal place to see,
so how did this come to be
arrived too early?

Should be seeing Tori Amos on Wednesday. I say 'should be' because it's a free gig with only 300 wristbands being given out. I'm camping outside HMV overnight with my friends though, so will hopefully get mine! It'll be my 5th Tori show this year. So excited!!

I don't have anything else lined up so far, although I'm taking my eight-year-old niece to see Miley Cyrus in a couple of weeks. Kill me now, please...

How did you get on the guest list?!

Did you enjoy the gig? I think it's my favourite of the 7 gigs I've been to so far, definitely the most special. I queued for 18 hours outside HMV for my wristband, then took my stuff home, washed and changed, and went to the venue for another 7 hour wait! Was well worth it though, was right by the stage and got LOADS of eye contact with Tori. She also held my hand twice! And I saw her when she came out after the show, and she grabbed my hand. I said thank you, and she look in my eyes and said it back. Also, when she sang Ophelia, she looked right at me for ages while she sang the line "Some girls will get their way..." It's funny, 'cause this song means an awful lot to me, and I told her so in a letter I wrote and gave to her in Birmingham in September. I doubt she put two and two together last night, but it was lovely all the same. Knowing that she sang that line TO me will give me a lot of strength to deal with things in the future.

Sorry, that was long and rambly, I know - I'm all hyped up about it! :)
