I agree that it doesn't really matter whether it's a member of your family or a stranger, you shouldn't touch someone unless they've offered to let you feel or you've at least asked permission. I had plenty of people try to feel without asking, from family to work mates to strangers and it used to drive me mad - it's not that I wasn't confident about my body or bump, it's just an invasion of personal space and kind of rude to assume it's ok when you wouldn't dream of going up and rubbing a woman's belly if she wasn't pregnant. Being pregnant doesn't make you public property.
i didnt mind people touching, but it hacked me off that no-one thought to ask first. when i take chloe out, i'll put her in her buggy and pull both hoods up, otherwise complete strangers stop me in the street to touch her - without asking. i feel like getting a big sticker for her forehead 'hands off i bite'.

as for the metal thing - waaaay ahead of ya folks, freyja used to fall asleep to metal when she was newborn. its what i listen to, so she was used to listening to it in the womb.
freyja is ok yeah, next lot are not her last unfortunately.

I can't remember white photo it was but there's a photo of Freyja where it looks like she has a mini mohican!! That put a smile on my face, looked so cute!

As for the "bump" touching subject - It doesn't make it acceptable that people simply go around touching other people, i wouldn't. But if it was a family member i'd feel more inclined not to bite there heads off, and just ask them to ask in future.

I had an old lady at the swimming pool come over and touch my bump when I was in the shower after aquanatal class. It was a bit weird, especially since I'm not the most confident when I'm at the pool cos my legs are on show... bit odd! I wasn't entirely comfortable with it but didn't say anything.
Yesterday when we were driving home I had an hour where I had regular pains, periody-type pains, which stopped after an hour or so, then when everything kicked off back here they started again. I haven't had any today though, so fingers crossed it was stress triggering them, and now things are looking up he'll settle down again.
WE looked at a few streets today and checked out some houses for rent, and there's 3 or 4 we want to look at, so Rusty's phoning the estate agents tomorrow to book viewings I'm really looking forward to being able to take Harlan's stuff out of storage and have it all set out ready for him in the nursery (although he'll be sleeping in our room when he's newborn - makes it easier for night feeds if nothing else!!)
berni...the things i am about to say may make you hate me - i know how irritating it is to hear. newborns will wake every 2 hours...they have to because their stomachs are so small that they have to eat that often. if its any constellation i am up every 2 hours with freyja at the moment. shes getting ready to wean but i am not ready to put her on them yet, i am worried about starting her too early.
how about just sitting down and holding him hun?
i felt a bit down around that time too...they said the 3rd day is the hardest but i felt it came a bit later for me. please do keep an eye on it though berni, in case its pnd. i cant offer much advice on it im sorry, as i just ploughed on and got through it, which i am not in any way suggesting is the only way. keep talking, dont bottle anything up hun.

stace, chloe is having tastes of bits here n there, since she keeps trying to get hold of our food.
she likes cheese, and chocolate and ice-cream lol.
she has a chew on a rusk - its the only hard thing she will chew on, i want her teeth to hurry up so will give her anything hard to chew on, mand x

i havent given freyja anything, though my friend gave her a white chocolate button and a taste of baby porridge as she was trying to get it off her baby. afterwards she slept for a good couple of hours which makes me want to try it but i am really uneasy about it. the hv said 17 weeks at the earliest, but the closer you leave it to 6 months the better. so im not getting a lot of sleep, but i think id rather continue the sleep deprivation rather than start her early as i do worry about allergies and all that.
wish freyjas teeth would hurry up too....chewing, chewing, chewing and drooling uncontrollably but not cutting any teeth yet. i suppose i should be thankful as i am still bf...god help me when the teeth arrive.
keep at it berni....hes still very tiny but i remember i was worried that freyja would never settle on her own if i always let her sleep on us. she slept much better after about 6 weeks. its no help at the moment when you are sleep deprived and 6 weeks seems such a long time but it does get easier.
