Gypsy Chick I do a similar thing. When I know I have to go into public places I always go armed with a stress ball shaped in a star and squeeze that like crazy to try and ease the tension and I wear elastic bands all the time as well to try and ground me.
Had an awful night last night. It was Punishment Night and Anouk made me do various forms of SH and beat me up quite badly. So feeling really drained and down today.
Sorry I didn't see these responses before I had to leave for the concert. Had a great time. Bit of switching went on but don't think my friend noticed.
I tend to fidget constantly to try and keep with it... works sometimes, doesnt wok other times.
I too was at a concert last night (oasis) and to my suprise was about 75% ok! few moments but nothing that bad, most unusual, last concert I attended was Metallica and I was MILES away on that, my fiancee was forever asking me if I was ok cos I looked 'bored'...
Still no word from my shrink, how long do they take to get back in touch?!
hush little baby, don't say a word, and never mind that noise you heard
it's just the beast under your bed, in your closet, in your head
Marko, we know how irritating it is when psychiatrists take their sweet time returning calls or replying to messages. It sucks. How long has it been? Perhaps a reminder call?
Facet,
So glad you had a good time at the concert, that's really awesome. Who did you see?
Wondering as well if you'd think about talking to your friend RE: her not wanting to spend time with other parts.... Is it that she doesn't like them, that she is intimidated/uncomfortable?? Just wondering.
Eclectica,
Hey, sounds like things are pretty shi**y. Do you know what triggered it?
We hope things improve and are sorry they are so tough...
We gotta go now (7:06am) to get into the city at 8:15 for our 11am appt.
Hate living here sometimes....
Bye
Things have been full-on for us.
We have some news.
For one we are moving out of home , moving into a place with two good friends... We've applied for a couple of places and are waiting on the outcome.
Where we live now is an impossible location, far from shops and public transport, it makes getting around so difficult. If we want to get into the city on a week day, our options are getting up at 6am and leaving home by 7:15, or catching a taxi (for $25) to the train station. It's ridiculous.
Ash spoke to his mum about it and she is being really supportive, which is great, and quite suprising.
Another thing is that some of Ash's psychotic symptoms are returning, which is quite unhelpful. Possibly made worse by the fact that we think Ash stopped taking his anti-psychotic medications or the fact that for a couple of weeks the anti psychotics, along with the anti-depressants have stopped working so... We should talk to our T about that.
Ash also broke up with his girlfriend of 3 years a month or two ago, and got into a relationship with another girl, that too is now over. We need space and time for ourselves at the moment. We aren't in a space where we can be in an intimate relationship.
luckily psych apt was cancelled today, i don't like this new woman. i have to start over again telling them things. i might just stop it all together ...
Kitty came out and threw a tantrum which is really out of character for her. she started trying to hurt anybody who was near her and she got terrified asking for a bear or something. i'm worried ...
I dreamed I was missing, you were so scared.
But no-one would listen, cos no-one else cared
I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through
I've never been perfect but neither have you
BB - I saw The Indigo Girls (who I had been waiting forever to see) and Matt Nathanson opened for them. I'm glad to see you back on the thread, I've missed you! As for my friend, I think she's uncomfortable. Or so it seems. She tends to search my face when she thinks I'm not looking to see if I've switched or something. That's really awesome about moving out, I hope all goes well :)
Inferiority Complex - I'm sorry things are difficult right now. Do you not like the new woman because you have to tell her stuff over again, or is it that you both don't click?
really really good to know you're still breathing and fighting your corner lostboys
apart from continuous nausea headshocks bawling my eyes out and feeling really fadey things are pretty ok just now. spent some time internal comms hoping that would really calm things down but it seems to have kicked off a heck of a lot of stuff. wish i'd left things as they were. mope mope mope!
Hey Slacker!
It's good to hear from you also!
Sounds like things are difficult at the moment. Despite your 'pretty ok' statement.
Any idea why the nausea head shocks are around?
We relate to the the fading, we're struggling with that too; not quite being there, fading into nothingness or floating along the divide between inside and out, not sure who is fronting (if anyone). It can be distressing for the part that 'comes back' to the situation.
Eclectic*a, (KJ)
We're here and listening and will help support Katie where we can.
Any updates on what the bath incident was about? It sounds scary.
Eclectic*a (as whole)
(possibly stupid question) Have you invited parts from the other system(s) to communicate through journaling? We had some parts who partook in some really dangerous behaviors; drinking to the point of alcohol poisoning, drinking in the city at night and wandering alone, drugs, serious cutting incidents...
When we acknowledged them, worked at communication with them (wasn't easy, they were very hostile, untrusting and reluctant at first) and gave them a forum (journal, T sessions) they became much more cooperative, calmed down quite a bit and were more comfortable.
Marko, it sucks that you are/were still waiting on a call back. Did you try calling again? After a week we think it's reasonable to call again.
How're things apart from that?
We're having issues. (again....still)
Psychotic symptoms are worsening for Ash, not sure what to do about them. He's refusing to speak to his Dr about them.... He shuts down when we mention them. We're leaving it be for the moment, but if it gets worse we'll do something about it...
There's more going on but we have to leave now... it's only 6:54am for crying out loud!!
I havent heard anything yet and they are only reachable tuesday thru to thursday, im going to ring them tomorrow and ask what is happening, I cant stand waiting!
hush little baby, don't say a word, and never mind that noise you heard
it's just the beast under your bed, in your closet, in your head
Was the OD serious? 'Cause you should probably get that checked out....!
How does it feel having them so close? Is it a bad feeling, good feeling or just different? It may pass.... (don't know)
We're fighting what feels like a scary switch. Trying to keep ourselves occupied; music, writing, computer games, going to try reading (see if winding down is a safe option) these switches always hit us in the minutes between asleep and awake.
It's a pain because tomorrow we need to be out of the house by 7:30 (not as bad as today, but still) and we haven't had a decent sleep in weeks. So if we get only a little, or none it's going to be a problem.
Our Dr./T is changing our medication from lovan to something called "pristiq" which is apparently a new drug that works on two neurotransmitters, NSRI's and SSRI's. So hopefully that will help. Unfortunately a close friend (who is on the drug) has told us that the medication reacts badly with alcohol....uck.
We're sure T hasn't told us this intentionally....
Ash is missing our ex-girlfriend. So much. We got out of a 3 year relationship (that had grown quite unhealthy) and somehow Ash got into another, with a younger girl, not a week after the break-up. That is over now, thankfully, it wasn't really working.... But now he's missing her like crazy, and it seems to be really hurting him. Plus the psychosis, plus the medications not working. And some memories and the like are returning vaguely from Friday the 3rd when we were attacked.
hey Electic*a (not sure what you call you guys anymore)
i kinda agree with lostboys that you might need to get it checked out, since it knocked you out.
having them so close can be bad. i usually try going for a walk in fresh, listen to loud music, etc. to keep your mind off the noise but different things work for different people.
lostboys
not sure what i can say, i'm sorry about ash and his girlfriend, it sounds tough. i hope you all feel better soon from everything.
Not sure what's going on at the moment. been switching alot, micro-switches too that i barely even notice. two if us being out at the same time isn't good, it confuses and scares me >.< Kittys age changed, she's 12 again aparently. things have been so close lately and constantly fighting switches, but so far at the same time? i can hear them all but i'm feeling distanced at the same time.
big abuse anniversary coming up in september, kyle's panicking.
I dreamed I was missing, you were so scared.
But no-one would listen, cos no-one else cared
I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through
I've never been perfect but neither have you
When you say core, do you mean, the core part/alter? As in the original/essence of your self before abuse and splitting?
We're not sure what you mean..... (this term is used in a lot of different ways among multiples.... Just wondering what your take on it is....
Just out of interest (sorry to barge in) - is it possible to lose a whole day through dissociation?
I'm not having the most fantastic time at the moment, yesterday being a very bad day due to certain distressing events. Stress & upset often cause me to dissociate but never for long periods, but i woke up today convinced it was Sunday, and in my head i feel like it's Sunday, i must have asked my mother 5 or 6 times what day it is. It's rather strange.
Sorry again for just randomly walking in - i was just curious if this was at all possible, or whether it's a memory lapse on my part.
