I'd also let him sleep. Nothing better than letting them sleep when they are ill. Lets their bodies relax!
Merry Christmas to you all! I hope you've all had a good day and the kiddies have been spoiled rotten by Santa! Poor Faith is in bed already. She's still got this cough and is just completely knackered today after a late night last night. She was moaning of a sore head before bed and had rosy cheeks. I was reading her stories on the sofa before bed and she was yawning her little head off!
Aurora has learned to blow raspberries, it's super cute and funny! She is also teething really badly though :( I feel really sorry for her, has to give her cal pol the last few days her pain was so bad :( she wouldn't stop screaming for an hour. Touch wood, so far today she is okay. About to head out to get her weighed again
If its getting bad, try some teething powders and teething gels. I know how you feel though. Faith teethed badly for months and never got her first one until she was 10 and a half months xx
I found bonjela was really good when Jasmine was teething. She'd be screaming for ages and a bit of bonjela and she calmed right down!
(although I think it might have been the taste of it more than anything) :P
I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!
Been trying bonjela, it wears off quick! Got her calgel today :)
I'm not worried about her weight anymore, she gained 1lb last week and shot up to the 75th centile.
I have to drag myself out of bed early tomorrow though to phone the drs for an appointment, need to get her skin looked at again. Her eczema is still really bad. A different hv saw her today and suggested it could be the soap powder we use. Why didn't I think of that, and why didn't her hv mention it?! I'm getting seriously frustrated with all the back and forth now :( babies seem to be trial and error!
We were using Eco balls filled with soap crystals. Yea, going to stop using fabric conditioner. It's the same stuff I washed all her clothes I'm before she was born, and her skin didn't break out until after 4 weeks. Been told to stop using her cradle cap shampoo and stop using the bath stuff we were prescribed a few weeks ago.
We have a doctors appointment for her at 10am. Hopefully it's with a decent doctor and we get some answers/more ideas. I'm going to ask for a referral to a specalist I think
We use Asda sensitive gel which doesn't set Elliot's skin off. We don't use any other products except a tiny bit of organic shampoo and his eczema cream and its worked wonders with Elliot's skin. Oscar has never had any products on him at all except olive oil. We use the same washing stuff on our clothes too as inevitably they will come into contact with yor clothes and I use no perfume or sprays. Just a small amount of roll on deodorant.
The doctor we saw today said she doesn't think it could be the soap powder especially since it wasn't an immediate reaction. Been given a different soap substitute to use, and told not to use the one we got on prescription yesterday that isn't even opened yet. Also bath her less often (currently every other day) and if the health board approves it we have a prescription for a silk body suit and silk mittens for her to wear at night. Andrew had to go in to Aberdeen today to get her prescriptions though, the local pharmacy can't get the clothing prescriptions filled :( took him almost 2 hours to drive there and back.
Olive oil didn't work on auroras cradle cap :( they keep suggesting it as something we should try.
Hope everyone has had a good 2013, and I hope our babies/children continue to grow and amaze us in 2014 x
I can send you some 100% olive oil soap if you like to try on Aurora, I make soap and even babies who are allergic to soap have been ok with this stuff. It has an extra 10% olive oil in for moisture, no detergents, colours or fragrances. Pm me if you'd like me to send you a sample (free).

How is everyone doing? How are all the new babies doing?
My new year as not started well...My washing machine broke :/ Hoping my dad might be able to fix it tomorrow, otherwise I'm going to mum's tomorrow to wash our clothes and to start saving for a new washing machine. Only money I have just now is tied up in stuff that I'm wanting to sell. So I'm parting with my Silver Cross pram and hoping to sell it :( I'm pulling it out the cupboard tomorrow and giving it a clean up. I said I would never sell it but i'm left with no choice now.

Thanks Mand. I'll hold off just now, going to ask the dr on Thursday of we can reintroduce her cradle cap shampoo, her head has flared up in the few days since we stopped using it and reduced the frequency of her baths

Oh no, I hope you can get it fixed! Are you a member of your local Facebook selling pages? I always look on Facebook groups when I'm looking to buy things!
Andrew gave Aurora a tiny piece of his toast today. It was a bit smaller than a five pence piece. She chewed it and swallowed it without choking and without spitting it out. She was grabbing his plate and trying to reach the food on it, so I said he could try. So going to speak to the doctor for weaning advice when I'm there on Thursday. She keeps trying to hold her own bottle as well and can almost manage to be a help rather than a hindrance!
Yeah I'm members of quite a few of them and no one is selling washing machines :( If dad can't fix it then mum said she'd do my washing for me and dad can take it back tomorrow. Dad thinks I'd just be better buying a new washing machine and insuring it but we can't afford a new washing machine right now.
Boo. I'll keep an eye on my local one for you if you aren't a member of it. Loads of pregnant people in my town as well if you can't shift your pram in yours.
At least you have family close by to help out/do your washing. Andrews family are diy clueless!
It appears my dad has fixed it! There was a kirby grip in the pipe beside the pump...How it got in my machine I have no idea cause I never put kirby grips in my pockets! But he's advised me to put money aside and save up for a new one so I can get it insured. So I'm planning on doing that for both the washing machine and the tumble dryer as the tumble dryer is 4 years old now. The heat setting on it hasn't been great for a while so don't think it has long left on it (unless dad can replace the thermostat!).
