Would you get rid of your scars?

I'm in the situation where my scars are too bad to ever be removed. I wanted surgery but was told it would be impossible to reduce this much damage.

I'm kinda used to them by now. And i wear short sleeves too. You get used to people staring. I don't mind people asking about them, but then again, i have been a cutter for half my life now.... You get to a point where you get tired of keeping alert. I want to live my life now and my scars are just a part of me and not the definition of me.

I have considered this question probably a million times over.
Ultimately I can say that no, I would not get rid of them.
This is not a part of my life i can just ignore so if people ask, i will tell.
They are consequences of my actions and I should live with that.
Sometimes all i can do is look at how many there are, and kind of get sick. But I would not erase my past.

The only time they really show anymore is when I'm cold. Some times I miss them, and sometimes they show, I hate them. They are a part of me, and a part of my past, But overall I'm glad they are more or less gone.

When I was in my accident, I fell and caught myself on my wrist, so it's torn up with deep scars that I didn't do. But everyone thinks I did. So it's kindof ironic that those are still there, and I'm really not in a want to get rid of them. shrugs.

I'm not sure, but I think if I could I would say yes.
Just so it wouldn't be there anymore, and I know then I could move on with my life instead I feel held back by them. I hate them, because they make me feel like crap. Also it'd give me a lot more confidence.
But also I'm not sure because it's a part of who I am now.
