i think sometimes its obvious people are lying, there was a case a few years ago of someone who i didn't believe when they made a claim but i had no proof so didn't bother but they got caught and dealt with which i'm glad. it was big lie that seriously effected other people.

when i first joined and read the lying rule i was a bit confused as to the point but i understand now that other than minor stuff it is quite important sometimes

i don't lie it just too much effort, and tbh it never occurs to me either.

but i am having an affair with brad pitt and eric northman

I do find it quite difficult to believe some people sometimes. I know I lied once (as stated a couple of pages back) but I thought I had a good reason at the time. I have noticed when a 'well known' member makes a thread, there does appear to be a few copycat threads with a member with very similar issues posts on the forum. Which makes it difficult to believe.
I have similar issues and some similar experiences to another member and coincidently they are only 2 months older than me. I tend to read those threads that relate to my own experience more as I wouldn't know what to say about some issues that are posted. I then find it triggers things off, which is why I come on here less and less. When I first joined I posted more. I find it interesting that that could suggest to others that I'm lying rather than seeing a different reason. Although due to my job I have to change certain things to ensure I'm not identified, so am technically lying!

I also belong to a forum related to a personal interest where lots of people know each other in real life and someone was caught in a dreadful lie that was proved. Some members still haven't forgiven them, whilst others get annoyed when they are treated badly because of it. I think they lied as they needed something, and personally I'd only be bothered by a lie to my face and not on the Internet.

I was on another forum that had a particularly nasty troll. It was a pregnancy forum.

I was accused of being a troll also because a spambot replied as me to one of my threads (from different account posted 'thanks for your replies etc) so everyone thought it was me accidentally forgetting and using a troll account.
Was proved to be wrong luckily.
