According to what little info has been released for the episode it involves a spell gone wrong which results in a change of cutie marks and destinies.
So I'm crossing my fingers the change isn't permanent.
That actually would be a good prank on Hasbro's part. To leak Alicorn Twilight and rile up the fans, but manage to keep the secret that it'll all be back to normal by the end.

I'm not a big fan of alicorn Twilight either.
Didn't enjoy the whole episode really. Felt too rushed. I think it could have been a two parter.
Hasbro thought they could get away with it because they intended season 3 to be the last. Make three seasons of a show then cash in on the toys for he next five years. But fan demand meant they commissioned a fourth.
I think Twilight will move back to ponyville in season 4.

I've been keeping my eye on that, seen some test animation and it looks promising.
I just hope Hasbro dont' step in and ruin it.
I heard that episode had become the first part of a trilogy, but I thought that was just rumour.

Just reviving the thread to tell of a little MLP related game I found on tumblr.
It's the My Little Pony quote game.
The game is easy, you slip quotes from episodes into conversation and get points, you win when you reach 100 points.
If someone questions you on your odd quote, forcing you to admit you were quoting a tv show, your score is reset to Zero.
However, If you know the person you're talking to is a brony and they recognise the quote as being from the show, your score is safe. They also win the score the quote is worth.
BUT, if the person recognises the quote and you DIDN'T know they were a brony i.e. you just discovered a brony, you both get 100 points and you both win.
Scoring is thus:
Quoting Big Mac = 1 point. reasonable since his quotes are pretty much "eeyup" and "nnope"
Any ordinary quote = 5 points
Quote something with a characters name in the sentence = 10 points. If you don't get caught when saying something like "Rainbow Dash" in a sentence, you deserve those points.
If you can quote a song — singing is worth = 20 points.
While speaking it is only worth = 15
Any quote by Zecora = 50 points. Considering everything she say's if in rhyme, you stand a good chance of being caught out.

I'm working on a fanfiction about my OC and her brother (my best friend's OC). c: It's called the Raving and the Blade. I did a sort of mock-Edgar Allen Poe title because the story is going to be a bit darker than the actual show. There's gonna be a new set of Elements that will actually AID Discord called the Elements of Chaos. My character, Rave Treble, is a self-harmer and has some problems with her mental health which gives her the Twilight Sparkle opposite element of Insanity (couldn't think of anything that actually opposited Magic, so I went with Insanity; the rest however do actually opposite the Elements of Harmony).

One thing I've recently noticed is that there is a large amount of very dark mlp fanfics out there. Still have to wonder why anyone thought writing "Cupcakes" was a good idea...

Mine probably won't be as dark as that. Plus, the dark stuff is added to make interesting characters and sub-plots. The real focus is Chaos vs. Harmony along with Rave and Blade being reunited. The Chaos ponies will not murder the Harmony ponies. In fact, I'm not even sure who will win in the end.

the dark fanfics are very much like rule 34, it's just an opportunity to see your favourite characters doing something they wouldn't ever do. A form of escapism from the norm.
if you thought cupcakes was dark you should avoid Cheerilee's Garden, it's like MLP meets the Saw movies then someone came along and decided "not gory enough." and added more intensity!

When I use canons, I try to stay within their personality (and my favorite pairings, if they are not already paired up through canon relationships) unless I get a totally awesome idea. Like for instance, I watch an anime called Soul Eater and there's these two characters I got an idea for a romantic fanfiction for, but the pairing is so out there. I actually searched for a fanfiction with the pairing and found nothing on the site I go on. It made me so excited cause I'm the first on that site to think of it and I have an awesome plot to go with the pairing.
