Its because the 'substance abuse' one is too vague, because substance can be different things. So as someone recovering from a drug problem I can read threads about alcohol/meds but not illicit drugs....but with just a substance abuse label you cant tell.
I agree 100% with you Liv. I think the substance abuse ones should stay. I know the point of this is to reduce the labels, but I honestly think its important to add these. Fair enough, illegal drug use and alcohol abuse often cross over, but you know.

Also agreed. But you know, I'm just one person, my view doesn't really carry much weight.

I voted yes--I really like the elimination of trigger warnings from the ranting forum, especially. Because I know in the past I've started a thread without labels/without specific labels and realizing you've ranted about something and need to add a label for it is a pain.
On another support forum I'm on, the threads can have subtitles. Maybe that could be useful here? That way if there's something that you personally feel a label is needed for and there isn't one-- i.e., types of behaviors in the ED or SI forum, types of substances abused in that forum, etc.--you can add your own in the subtitle? Just a thought. I like the way it is, though.
I agree with the subtitle idea. I think it's useful for people to use their own discretion on what they think is important to say about their thread. I was thinking of just adding that into the title, rather than using a rigid "warning".
Maybe seperate polls should be put up in each of the specific support, advice and recovery forums? The trigger warnings needed in those sub-forums are probably best judged by those who frequently use each area.
Maybe that's just a stupid idea :\
