if the highway code says you have to drive with two hands on the wheel

how do you change gears?

i've found one hand on wheel ration is less when smoking a fag to changing gears, as some areas i've changed gear so often i have been driving/steering with one hand whereas smoking has meant two hands on the wheel more.

Change gear with your hand.
You don't have to have your hand completely off the wheel if your smoking.... You can still hold it and a fag...

I dunno if i would ban it or not. i definately wouldnt recomend it though! I have been known to smoke while driving and it is distracting - especialy when you drop a lit fag in your mum's new car! but i suppose its the individuals choice.
The worst one is smoking with kids in the car though! that is just wrong!!!

That being said, I used to smoke so I wouldn't eat as much, and it did relax me. But I realized that it is SO NOT worth it at ALL.
Anyways back to the main idea, yeah, smoking is also a distraction so it should probably be banned while driving.
Man, I love ex-smokers.

I'm a non-smoker and I have asthma. I think smoking should be banned in cars because not only does it pose a hazard while driving, but it is also harmful to whoever else is in the car. Especially small children. They can breathe in the smoke and develop asthma, as I did.
