Berni, if you're really struggling, then go into hospital and ask for help; they can break your waters and/or give you synoctin (sp?); for gods sake, don't make yourself suffer. You will be so happy to have your baby at the end, but you want this to be something you look back on happily, rather than as a horrible experience.

That's ok! Night before last we were up about 2am for no obvious reason :| and last night, our wee guy was up and down again. So now i'm just waiting for porridge to cool and then attempt to get ready and catch the train to see my 'rents. Fun..

If they break your waters that isn't really inducing, but it should speed things up.

yeah i didnt have blood in my plug either. i can sympathise with the 'mild contractions' thing - in reality they have no idea what level of pain you are in so it can be frustrating to see that...i dont think there is really such a thing as a mild contraction, not in my case anyway. some are less painful than others but they are all fckin sore!
when i was in labour as you know it was the wed it began and they broke my waters around 6pm on the friday night. after my waters were broken things really kicked off from there and she was born at 1.40am. they didnt have to give me any other kind of help - they did mention they may give me something to speed it up, but i declined. so perhaps if you have your waters broken, the same could happen. your body would just kick in and think to itself right the membranes have ruptured, lets get this show on the road.

oh im so excited!!! i remember berni texting me when i was in labour to see how it was going. and until the other day when i got a new phone, i still had the text in my sent box telling her i had a little girl but she didnt have a name yet!
