^^ I've just read the whole thing through and it's reeally good! *craves more of story*
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.
"He said look inside your heart/ And you'll see stars/ Falling stars/ Look, deep into my eyes/ Don't look down/ Or you'll fall, he said/ Here, the sky goes on forever"
Hello, zombie thread. Basically, I feel it is unfair of me to leave this story completely without it being finished, so I'll be starting it up again in the next few days and hopefully finish it without going insane ;)
That is, only if you wish for me to finish it! :O
It may take a little longer than I had hoped, considering during the last year or so, my writing style may have changed slightly and the way I think about things most certainly has changed. So you may be in for a few twists and turns as well as awesome surprises and annoying frustrations. ;)
I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.

Never lose faith in yourself,
and never lose hope;
remember, even when this world throws its worst and then turns its back,
there is still always hope.
I've basically just finished another chapter, but I apologise if none of you actually remember any of this story; I certainly don't. I plan on reading the whole story again to make sure I do this properly.
In the meantime, enjoy:
Chapter Twenty-Five
After what felt like forever, the weekend my mother had promised me finally arrived. I heard her car pull up outside the front door of the clinic and I ran to open it, grabbing my bag and tried to stop her getting out of the car to go inside. She laughed at me and told me she needed to speak to one of the nurses before we could go. I sighed and walked her back towards the house, putting my bag next to the door and retreating to the living room where a few of the other girls were. A girl I had spoken to a few times named Lily approached me and beckoned me to sit down on the sofa. She had just turned twenty-one and was in the clinic for bipolar disorder. On one of her highs, she had believed herself to be a superhero and attempted to stop a train before she was dragged off of the tracks by five or six men. She had a natural beauty about her, and a smile could put anyone at ease and fill the world with colour.
"So are you excited?" she asked, squeeing a little in her obvious happiness for another patient's potential freedom.
I nodded. "I'm just waiting for my mum to finish speaking to one of the nurses and then we can go. I haven't seen my little cousin since before I was admitted to the eating disorder clinic last year."
We continued talking until Anita and my mother came to find me, telling me we could leave. I said goodbye to Lily and the other girls and jumped in the car next to my mother, putting the radio on and realising how long it had been since I'd listened to the music charts. I sat quietly for most of the journey, my mother making small talk with me and telling me how proud she was of my progress.
It took us a couple of hours to get to my Auntie Louise's house and I stepped out of the car and rang the doorbell, kissing her on the cheek and picking up Milly as soon as she ran towards me with her arms open. I doubt she remembered me, but the fact she wanted to hug me sent my mood flying. I buried my face into her soft, blonde ringlets and drank in the soft scent of her. She was carrying a stuffed rabbit, which she'd lovingly named Milo, as she'd named all of her stuffed animals, and started talking to me through it. Milo says he loves you. Milo says you're pretty. Milo says he's hungry. Milo wants a hug. I responded to each question as if it was the rabbit talking to me and gave in to every demand. My mother and auntie went into the kitchen, leaving me and Milly on our own. I was touched that my mother and auntie still trusted me alone with Milly; although there was no reason not to, people deciding I couldn't be left alone no matter what had become a regular occurrence.
They returned several minutes later with sandwiches and obvious concern in their eyes. I wondered what had been said in the kitchen that had not been said through tears and sadness from my mother over the phone to this particular family member. I eyed the sandwiches and could feel them watching me; expecting my refusal. I'll make them proud. I picked up a cucumber sandwich on wholemeal bread, wondering if I could really eat this without choking due to the monstrous lump in my throat threatening to stop any kind of food from passing through, in denial that it had to all change. If not for my own sake, then for the people around me who were counting on me.
Sure everyone in the room could hear my heart beat, I took a bite, my mother and auntie pretending not to notice this huge achievement. I chewed until it slipped effortlessly down my throat. Not bad.
I'm gonna tap him like a maple tree. I'm gonna search him for some syrups. I'm gonna be having sex with him.
