Im hoping mines as good as yours beckie! Would make for a much easier transition!

Katie (Ah maybe?! >-<) I have one cat like that, except its my hubby she loves and she HATES me, except whilst ive been preg, since pregnancy she'll snuggle on my lap as long as my hubbys not around XD

We put a cat flap in on the basement so they can live down there if they want to avoid screeching and grabbing - hopefully it works

Katy is right (with a y!) yeah my furball has gotten even fussier since I have been pregnant. We think she knew before us because one day when I came home I was tired and sat on the sofa and she sat next to me for an hour just looking at me strangely and sniffing me which was really weird. After that I was sure she knew something was up took a test and voila she was right!

Darn so close! :p
My cats have been pretty nonchalant over the whole preg thing, except extra snuggles from the one, however they aren't the brightest of sparks so i wouldnt be surprised that they didnt notice!!!
The cats at my work will go the extra mile just to have a paw on my belly tho, even before it became a convinient shelf!
How's everything going with you? How far along are you now?

Oh my cat is close to genius I am sure! She seems to understand so much it is really quite worrying. She is probably plotting to take over the world..
The cat and baby have been fighting for weeks. If the baby kicks her when she is leaning on me the cat hits back and this can go on for ages it is hilarious!
Okay thanks I keep getting awful back pain now though. I am 26 + 5 now.

How are you getting on?

Lmao that sounds hilarious, got some rivalry going on already hehe

eesh back pain is no good, mines been really bad hip pain since about 20 weeks, my hubby has to roll me over to help me out of bed XD
Im good, only a month left (36+1 today eek!) My dr said baby is ready whenever he feels like it as of this point, his head dropped two weeks ago and it is SO awkward! I finish work on friday and am looking forwards to not having to walk quite so much every day. This thursday i have an exam for group b strep which will be my second internal exam since getting preg - not looking forwards to it, but apparently some peoples dr's let them do the swab themselves in the washroom, so hopefully that's an option!

We got a kitten about 3 weeks ago and Lucas loves him! They play like siblings, he has pulled the cats tail and chucked him about abit and the car has scratched Lucas quite a lot (which we arnt sure how to stop) but its Lucas' first word now. Whenever he sees a cat he goes " what's that? Cat"

I pulled my cats whiskers out when I was a baby and it just lay there!! My parents had a Siamese cat when they had me and the health visitor told them they would have to get rid of it cos Siamese cats are evil, but her only evidence was the Disney film lady and the tramp!

I have my first scan tomorrow morning! I'm so excited and I can't wait, but I just hope traffic isn't too horrid! It's been snowing a lot here today -/ it took 2 hours instead of one for my bus into work this morning

Possible tim question so I'll hide just in case
The following content has been hidden - Reason : Poss tmi
my entire body has been really itchy and it's affecting my noobs as well. My nipples have gone really dry and yesterday one of them was cracked and looked almost pus-sy, is that normal?

And how do I deal with back pain? My hips have been getting more and more sore since sleeping in the awful bed at my in-laws at Christmas and its at the point it hurts to move :(

My neighbour had a cat and a little boy who played really rough with him but they always got on well because from being a kitten he had been like that and he was lovely :)

My cat is used to being the centre of our world so she is in for a shock! I would never get rid of her though despite how many times people ask if we are going to rehome her. She is part of the family!

Hope your scan goes well. I would speak to your midwife about that because it's not normal you might just have an infection but it is worth getting it sorted sooner rather than later.

No tips on the backpain because I am the same! I knelt on the sofa with my head down on the seat and my arse in the air the other day because it was the only way it didn't hurt!

I have my 4d scan on Saturday :)

haha at the shelter we judge siamese cats and orange tabby cats :p They're generally the ones to be grouchy!
Sunshine that's awesome, have you clipped kitties nails? That could help with any scratching, you can also get nail caps called soft paws that you just glue on there, but theyre expensive and fall off when they shed their nails so not really that great.

Just a girl, i found my maternity trousers have helped with my back pain a little, other than that then massage/chiropracters may help? Let us know how the scan goes!

Katy, at my work we run a course called old pet new baby, there may be something local to you that is similar? It gives ideas on how to integrate the baby to pets in the least stressfull way. We've been getting our cats used to being aggrivated, and been playing a cd occasionally with the sound of a baby crying/general baby noises on it :)

Oh the joys.

I joined a pregnancy forum when i was pregnant and i found it really helpful.
(i first joined when i was convinced my test was a false positive :p)

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

My scan went really well and they decided to just do all my blood tests while I was there cos they found a vein that worked for doing the Down's syndrome blood test anyway. Here's some of my scan pics

Baby brain!

I already have maternity trousers for work. I think my biggest problem might actually be that the chairs in work are crap. I didn't see my midwife today, but now that we are telling people about the baby I can beg my friend who is a massage therapist for a proper back massage cos hubby isn't great at them!!

He learnt what two means today. We say two to him all the time, two shoes, two socks, two eyes etc. this morning I said to him "you have two Iggle piggles" and he kept repeating two over and over and when I asked how many he had he said two. Anyway later I went to put his socks on and he said "two" and I gave him the remotes and he said there were "two". If I give him one of something he just says what it is (if he can) but he definitely knows when he has two of something. It's the cutest thing!
