Well there's a good reason for that.
That's not an American saying it. That's a Japanese person. Or a person for whom Japanese is their first language and has learned English relatively recently in their life. The Japanese tongue had problems with pronunciation of L's and R's, among other things like those D's which seem to have a hint of a U to the pronunciation. That's the best you're going to get when a Japanese person say's a word like 'Lord'
Hard to get more authentic than a Japanese person saying it.

the 80's series had it's charms. but the more recent one from 08 was closer to the original comic books. it was dark like them too.

My brother only figured out that they were named after artists a couple of months ago.
