Awww, thanks!

I’m now reading The Coordinates of Loss by Amanda Prowse. For Christmas I asked people for a book they loved this year and this one is from my mother in law.

I gave this three stars because it's such an amazing and important piece of work and I think it is still incredibly useful despite the fact that the author is definitely at least a little problematic, which lost her two stars.

The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler - Gene Kemp.

I actually read this in school over 30 years ago. I don't remember much about it and it wasn't until 10 years ago I finally tracked down what it was called. It's an easy read so far but I have only read 2 chapters.

I also finally finished a book!

I listened to The School For Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan. Gave it three stars.

Yay, well done Lio!

I have given up on Think Again. It's very obvious that she is a children's writer and the mini plot surprise thing was predictable.

Now reading Shutter Man - Richard Montanari.

Now listening to A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara; not expecting to finish it or enjoy it but want to at least give it a bit of a hate read!

Why do you think it'll be a hate read, Jenna? I have it on my bookcase but can't really remember what it's about.

Because it's about a gay disabled man written by a straight non-disabled woman who openly admits to doing no research into her character which I find obnoxious and disrespectful. It features self-harm and I expected her lack of research to lead to those bits being unrealistic and badly written.

I'm over two-thirds of the way through and I don't hate it all which I'm not thrilled about :P
