Possibly Triggering - Computer Art "rescue me from my Depression"

Thanks mikey for your reply to my thread, im sorry if my artwork frightens you or anyone else. I notice i dont get many replies to my work anymore it must be that the subject matter is too dark and to powerfull for anyone.

My work frightens me alot most of what i creat seems to be so real and has a life of its own. My artwork is about my journey through all the issues ive been through my battle with my depression, the trauma i went through, and emotional,mental abuse in my relationship, my bullying, domestic violence. I have alot of stuff inside me that i need to get out which is why i create what i do.

How do i do them ? thats a difficult question, the artwork i create depends on what im going through at any one time for example if im triggered by issues relating to domestic violence on tv, in the news, newspapers, or by my ex. I channel what i can of it through a piece of artwork. Sometimes i never know what im going to create until i begin.

Often i begin with a background first then work forward by then creating characters in the picture, example a man and a woman if its about my experience of domestic violence from her. I use pictures of people , places to create my work,and create my own characters and intepretations of what ive been through .I manipulate the pictures , i get them from an official website where i can buy royalty free photographs. Alot of my work shows what i perceive is my depression or my ex or my bully, the person who is in the picture is allways me. I have alot of work that is too graphical for ryl . I did 3 months of art therapy where i used my artwork in the sessions , it helped me up to a point.

They are really powerful (and scary, like you say).

I think they convey your difficult emotion amazingly. I see two sides. While I'm in awe of their power, I feel for you and want to reach out. It also makes me angry towards your pain.

Do you share them with anyone in real life out of interest?

I have shared some of my earlier artwork with my brother, but not my really graphic work. Ive also shared my graphic work with an art therapist over a three month period he found them very powerfull and dark

Thanks Kat your right about them being powerful ive really struggled to create my work recently.

I feel preety lost just now tired and scared worried my psych isnt up to the job. Seing the way he talks in these psycho social groups i attend , he seems to get lost which isnt a good sign and i just cant take in what he talks about . Im not looking forward to my mentalisation therapy i hope to god hes not doing my mentalisation group therapy n individual therapy . The psycho social group sessions are taking a toll on me everything is such a battle getting a life back is too dificult my depression is drowning me.

i will keep fighting as long as i can
