Sometimes I feel like I'm alone, Sometimes I feel like I'm not that strong, Sometimes I feel nothing at all, Sometimes I feel vulnerable, Sometimes I feel a little fragile
Sorry I took so long, i had a bit of a writer's block on but i think I've cleared it now. Just want to warn you all, this is very triggering, so please be careful.
I left her sleeping the next morning and headed down to breakfast. I felt like sh*t, every movement ached and I couldn’t turn without a sharp pain shooting up my back. I grabbed some toast from the front, and sat down in my usual place. For once I was actually hungry, and I ate quickly, wanting to get to therapy as quickly as possible. I needed to talk to someone, to understand what happened last night. I wasn’t stupid, I would make it past tense, Bill would think I had just had some miraculous breakthrough. I didn’t want to drop Lauren in it.
Suddenly I heard a gasp from behind me. I turned, forgetting about my back, and whirled around, Bill’s shocked face coming into view. I glanced around, wondering what she was looking at, but it was me. She stared at me in horror for a few seconds, before grabbing my arm and pulling me from the room.
“Bill? Bill? What’s going on? Is everyone ok? Oh my god, is it Lauren? Is she hurt?”
She didn’t answer, just continued dragging me along the corridor to the medical room. Halfway there we met Lauren, stumbling down to breakfast. She smiled at me, and tried to give me a hug, but Bill stopped her.
“No, Lauren. You stay away from her. You’ve done enough damage already, don’t you think? Go back to your room and start packing your things. I’ll send someone up to help you as soon as I have gotten this sorted. You won’t be staying here any more. We can’t take the risk.”
With that, she carried on down the corridor, towing me behind her. I was sobbing, partly from the pain in my arm where she held me, and partly from her words. I was going to lose Lauren too. I would be alone in this place again. What the hell had happened?
I was taken straight through to the medical room and asked to sit on the table. Bill left me alone for a few seconds while she went to find the nurse. From where I was sitting, I could see the reflection of the window behind me in the big mirror. I could finally see what Bill was so worked up about. My back was soaked in blood. The movement had obviously torn the cuts further, and deeper, because the back of my top was scarlet. My face was chalk white, with big dark rings underneath. I looked terrible.
The nurse entered, and called up my notes on her computer. Carefully, she and Bill peeled the wet t-shirt away from my skin, and lifted it oer my head. I could see in the mirror a heart-shaped smear of blood had been left on my cheek, but they didn’t notice. They were too busy looking at my back.
For the first time I could see the full extent of the damage. The previous night, lost in the emotion and the sensation, I had believed it to be shallow, but it was deep enough to need stitching. I felt the nurse begin, starting at the bottom and working her way up.
It took nearly an hour for her to reach the back of my neck, and I had lost count of the number I had received by then. She and Bill discussed keeping me in the ward, but I argued with them and eventually they agreed to allow me back to my own room. I made my way up the stairs quickly, hoping to catch Lauren before she left. I didn’t know when I would get to see her again, and I didn’t want her to leave without the chance to say goodbye.
As I reached the corridor where our room was, I felt my stomach turn. Butterflies started, making my feel nauseous. Something was wrong. The whole place felt wrong. I ran to our door, ignoring the pain in my back, and tried the handle. It turned, but the door wouldn’t open. I twisted it again, but this time I threw my whole weight behind it. The door did move, but only slightly, and as soon as I stopped pushing it closed again. I looked around, wondering what was going on. An idea surfaced, and I bent down and peered through the keyhole.
The first thing I saw was Lauren’s bed, where we had slept the night before. The sheets were soaked with blood. How had I not noticed them when I woke up this morning? It was even dripping on the floor, leaving a spreading puddle. All Lauren’s things were gone, presumably packed into the rucksack that lay against the wall. As my gaze was drawn down towards the floor, I noticed something strange. One of Lauren’s shoes lay in the middle of that puddle of blood, upside down. If I stood up slightly, and strained my eyes down, I could just see tip of the other one, stood straight up in the air, as if someone was still wearing it.
“Lauren? Is that you?” The foot twitched. “Lauren, move away from the door, sweetie, I need to get in.”
For several seconds there was complete silence. She didn’t speak, she didn’t move. I stood up and turned away, giving up hope of her listening to me. As I began to walk down the corridor, there was a loud but strangely muffled thump from our room. I ran back and looked in again.
Now I could see more of her. She lay on the floor, twisted around so her feet were by her head. She lay face down in the blood, but didn’t seem to care.
“Lauren?” I began as I stood up. “It’s not healthy to lie in other people’s blood. Come on, you need to get up.”
I opened the door to the bedroom and slipped inside, avoiding the pool.

I grabbed her wrist and pulled, but recoiled in horror when my fingers slid inside her arm.
I turned her arm over, and saw the gaping wounds running from wrist to elbow, three on each arm. She had tried to kill herself.
And it was probably my fault.

I love it :)
That's all I can say ^_^
I've been waiting patiently...*whistles*
Awesome.

Now I'll play your ghost as my ace, whenever I'm led astray.
But I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted.
I'm in my right place, don't be a downer.
I'm confused. In the last update she was about to go see a movie and Lauren was saying how she was going to make Ryan pay for hurting her. Unless I missed something.
I find some of what you teach suspect
Because I'm used to relying on intellect
But I try to open up to what I don't know
Because reason says I should have died

no, you didnt miss anything, but there were some problems with the storyline, it just wasn't flowing properly. Over the next few days, there may be some problems while i try and link the parts up, but then i will like you all to the full version. I think the last bit i posted is slightly out of sequence, sorry :/
