is there anything else you can hear? Maybe something you can hear through your window, cars or something. Maybe you can hear your breathing? Try and focus on different things you can hear.
Once you are done with that, you can start to feel your body.
Can you feel 5 things? (e.g. the chair you are sitting on)
*shakes ehad* can't hear anything else other than the tv and my clock...
can feel my blanket
mummys furry that's round me
necklaces round my neck
my hair
and teddies
"For I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me"
"You are good, you are good when there's nothing good in me"
it's ok, you don't have to find more than you can hear. I know how hard it can be for me to hear so many things.
Well done for feeling 5 things.
Now the hardest one: try if you find 5 things you can smell
you can get up and walk around to smell at things, because otherwise it's impossible to smell so much
You survived the abuse.
You're gonna survive the recovery.

that's good.
take one of those things in your hand and look at it, look at every detail. Then try to describe all the details you just looked at and say it out loud. Feel with your hands, try to feel every detail and what the texture feels like.
Really focus on the object you took.
You survived the abuse.
You're gonna survive the recovery.
can yuo get up and walk around? sometimes walking around can help, too. I know it's difficult to get up, but once you started it should get easier.
Also: it can help to eat something really spicy like chilli, or holding a cold pack, wash your hands with cold water.
Could you call a good friend or family who you could spend some time with and who you feel safe with?

It's good to keep yourself distracted. Is it ok if I go offline now? I need to get some sleep, cause I have to get up early in the morning.
But if you want to talk or anything, you can always pm me.

I struggle with dissociation... does anyone find they experience incredible drowsiness when they feel the suction of dissociation? do you also find you get binge urges too?
There there baby, it's just text book stuff, it's in the ABC of growing up...
I was taught something similar - the 5-4-3-2-1 game. 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can *i forgot that one* 1 thing you can smell.
GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE
THE COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN
AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE
^yeah, I was taught different versions of it. The long version is 5 of everything, 4 of everything, 3 of ..... and the short verstion is 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel and so on.
When I have a lot of switching in one day/a short time I'm always exhausted from it. Does anyone get that? I'm still new to the whole DID thing, so I'm wondering if it gets easier once we are more used to it?
