Another claim the author makes is that because less violent acts are being considered as domestic violence, the prevalence of violence diminishes too. Stylistics (which developed in the late 20th century) aims to show how the technical and linguistic features of a literary work, for example the grammatical construction of sentences, contribute to the work’s overall meaning and effect. In most recent times it has been debated whether stylistics is really a form of critical theory at all, but it IS a form of literary approach, and actually has a lot in common with Liberal Humanism.
