I remember where and when. I was 16 at college on the computer searching for something then followed a link and another link and came across RYL. At the time i couldn't look at it in too much detail because there were people around me but i think what stood out for me was the title 'Recover Your Life' so i remembered it and when i got home i joined.

Wellllll I was like...14 and i was searching about SH because i was pretty new to it and wasn't wuite sure what the hell i was doing. I found Ruin but was far too scared to join.
I joined another one and after a while it kind of died, i came back here and id changed to recover.
THENNNN i joined. And no one can seem to get rid of me now.

I think the idea is that RYL helps people deal with their self harm with such an extent that they DO leave, and no longer need the support here.
I found Ruin whilst searching 'self harm pictures' or something equally as cool on google.
