Kim - you have my deepest and most complete sympathy. The emotional scars that would have left me with *shakes head*
I have three different browsers on my computer, the one I use most commonly is Chrome whereas my parents are die-hard IE people so I never worry about them stumbling upon websites I visit that might not be as parent appropriate as say, facebook (separate histories, logins and everything).
No need to have the parents know I'm visiting the occasional adult novelty shop online *giggles*
It's one thing I'm now happy that I've got 2 laptops; one is staying at home, one coming back down with me to uni. Never have to see it again!!!
I've never actually been in a sex shop; dunno how because all my mates did at 6th form for something to do but whoever went it was when I was with different people. Though I have been on them on the net. One of the times was to educate one of my mates who'd had a very sheltered life. She knew nothing so I got my laptop out and searched a few things just to freak her out! Most of it was pretty innocent stuff and she was still mega freaked out, I just stood there laughing
I do get random things bought for me from Ann Summers from my mates though and I piss around asking why they were thinking of me when they were in Ann Summers and then one of my other mates always thinks I'm like mega embarrassed and distraught lol! My mates are all so different to everyone and different people know different things bout me they don't know how I'll react!
Lol!
On a night out in 1st year we went to a pub where there was a hen night so we picked up bits of penis shaped confetti. Had a bit stuck to my notice board for months then had to take it down when my parents were visiting. Dunno where it ended up after that.

There was/is a lot of stuff I have to hide in my room (and now the house I'm in) when my parents come to visit or when they pick me up. I have to get other people to check there's nothing referring to sex, drugs or rock & roll! Lol!

you know when you buy stuff from ann summers and get it posted to your house, is it really blatantly from ann summers?
Cos I'm gunna get some sexy lingerie for my boyfriends 21st birthday, but im at home at the moment, so i either get it delivered here, where my parents can see, or to my uni address, where all my flatmates can get into post box lol.
So basically will it have ANN SUMMERS written across it? lol.
I might just brave going in the shop alone, I dont mind going in with my boyfriend but i'd feel awkward on my own! x
I says on the website it comes in discreet packaging with the return address of their parent company (Gold Group International) so you could get it posted to your parents' house without them knowing what it is. Just make sure you have an excuse ready so when they ask you don't blush and panic!

I remember coming home after having gone shopping in Ann Summers once, and got a vibrator in the sale. My mum asked what was int he bag when I got in, so I told her and she asked to see anyway, so I did. So then she comes out with "oh, this looks like fun, might have to get me one of these!". Cheers mum.
So yeah. I love sex shops. Especially in Amsterdam, when buying a strap on there with my boy, the guy was asking all these questions, like did we want batteries, or lube, he could reccomend us a good lube etc. and my boy was just like no, no want to LEAVE. NOW. And pretty much ran out with a red face. SO funny.
Wake me up before I change again
Remind me the story that I won't get insane
Tell me why it's always the same
Explain me the reason why I'm so much in pain.
awesome thanks! I don't mind saying I got some nice underwear for him, but i dont wanna show them, cos its gunna be pretty skimpy stuff!
cheers x
Most places ship in a brown paper covered box (or a standard cardboard box) with a plain (read: non sexual or easily identifiable) name. If your parents ask, maybe find some cute but appropriate things to add if they want to see?

My bro and his girlfriend got back to (my parents') house after going shopping and they had an Ann Summers bag (I recognised the pink bag with no shop name on it!). Poor little bro looked all embarrassed when he realised I recognised the bag. Lol!

i was on holiday with a group of friends once and we had convinced one friend to buy a vibrator so she did and she meant to send her boyfriend a text saying what she had just bought but she sent it to her dad instead. she was mortified! she said afterwards that he never mentioned the text though to save from the embarrassment
Eeeeeek, I'm blushing just thinking about either going into a shop or buying something and my mum finding out.
Sometimes we love with nothing more than hope. Sometimes we cry with everything except tears. In the end, that's all there is: love and its duty, sorrow and its truth. In the end that's all we have - to hold on tight until the dawn.
