Erm its called rose gold actually! There are quite a few golds. Depends on what it is mixed with during the smelting process. *nods*
It doesnt have to be any material at all to be fair. The ring/unbroken band is the significant part, not the material.
My friends rings are platinum. I know someone who had ebony ones. They were beautiful.

I'm a complete white gold/silver/platinum girl myself.
My favourite two pieces of jewellery are a silver ring, and a white gold and diamond bracelet.

But the alloy means it's not really gold because it's only a small part actual gold and mainly other materials and thus it's not really gold! :-P
