i agree with what you are trying to achieve but will not sign the pertition.

my reason for this is a simple one if you take into consideration the stats on self harm and abuse etc even mental health in general, in a class of 30 pupils u will have 1 person who has been abused, 1 who is a abuser, 1 or 2 that self harm and then about 3 others with mental health issues.

while i agree that awareness needs to be raise any for of edication added to the curriculum would only prove ot be triggering to these individuals and would signal them out through their reactions in class

We did Self Harm in PSHE, yet I found it only made me angry and triggered because of the way it was taught and the input from others in the class.
It is a really good idea for awareness but it really needs to be done in the right way so that the information is not triggering or misleading. As I found that even the teacher was presenting us with stereotypes of Self Harm.

Yeah, that's a point. Cover ED's & Self Esteem, but not Self Harm. Hmm.

Didn't think of that. Hmm. The reaction thing is true, i know when we had PSHE today, there was someone over the other side of the room who jumped at the mention of something.
