Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.
Now that that is settled, the better question is...
Whats the plural of mongoose? Is it like moose? Or goose? Or octupi?
I read a newspaper article once about a baby mongoose being born at Whipsnade Zoo (those who live in and around south Bedfordshire will know where I mean). Anywho... in one article alone, it used the plural "mongooses" AND "mongeese".
ok. so most people agree that it's moose. but that's just boring. Should I email the OED and tell them to change it, just to prove its mooses or meese or something? even my mum says it should be meese
The word "moose" came to us from Algonquian Indians. Consequently its plural, instead of being "mooses" or "meese", is the same as the singular. That is true of most Indian names whether of a tribe, such as the Winnebago and Potawatomi, or of an object such as papoose. It is also true of many wildlife names not of Indian origin -- for example: deer, mink and grouse.

the plural of fish is actually fish... i checked my dictionary. it says same or -es but thats not the point.
just have to say - you say fish if the fish are all of one species, but you say fishes if the group of fish you are looking at includes fishes of more than one species or sub-species (Y)
Even as the stone of the fruit must break
that its heart may stand in the sun,
so must you know pain.
There are only two ways in which one can live their life. One is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is.

why does everyone have to be smarter than me when I'm hyper?
