I love tea, tea is great.
Biscuit dunking ftw!
xD
People that have their tea more like hot water, milk and sugar scare me!
People have weird tea ratios sometimes.
I drink my tea with a little bit of milk and no sugar...the way tea should be drunk.
And I've also started drinking soya milk in tea...but it makes it a bit too sweet.

I've tried to get into drinking tea, and I just can't do it. Something about tea just doesn't sit right with me - digestively speaking, I mean. It actually makes me ill. My mother is a hardcore tea drinker, and she thinks I'm nuts.
I think part of it is something my FIL once said to me: "Tea is dried leaves in warm water, yes? Sooo . . . isn't that a swamp?" and you know something? In an odd and very sick way, he's kinda right.
Perhaps it's the idea that I'm drinking a swamp that does me in. However, if any of you tea lovers out there can convert me, have at it! It seems like such a lovely ritual, but I just can't get past the swamp thing. Convert me! :D

Lol!! Right... conversion time!! *rolls up sleeves*
Tea is a delicious blend of dried leaves which have had boiling water added to them, hot enough to kill any possible bacteria or nasties that could possibly be in there, to make an insanely yummy drink. Whereas a swamp is an area of wetland, which normally describes a very large area covered by shallow-ish stagnant water, covered by algae and/or aquatic vegetation. Also a swamp can be salt-water, and tea... cant. well it could, but omg that would be GROSS.
Tea is ridiculously good for you. It's a natural source of an amino acid called Theanine, lots of antioxidants, and has absoloutely no sugar (unless you add a bit. personally I use sweetener) or fat. It has a very nice amount of caffiene that doesnt make you jittery like coffee can, but acts as a pick-me-up. It has anti-cancer properties (green tea and white tea especially), is good for your skin, can boost your immune system, can help protect against heart disease, strokes, parkinsons disease... the list goes on. Plus it boosts your short-term memory so its fabby if you're revising just before an exam!
It also has been proven to SIGNIFICANTLY lower stress levels. In an independant study, 50 minutes after a high stress event, subjects who drank 4 cups of black tea per day for a 4 week period experienced an average cortisol (chronic stress hormone) drop of 47%, compared to 27% for the placebo group. Blood platelet activation, which is linked to blood clotting and the risk of heart attacks was also lower in the tea drinker's group. *nods*
Try drinking green tea if you find normal tea hard on your stomach, its very mild and gentle, and is actually better for you than normal tea. Jasmine tea is particularly soothing. Peppermint tea is very good for nausea and tummy problems. If you're intolerant to caffiene, try decaf tea. Chai tea is also REALLY good.
Um... have I succeeded yet?

WoW!!! I have finally found something that suits me!
I love tea
I adore tea
I need tea
Question: is decaff allowed?
I normally have around 9-10 cups/day so about a year ago I had to switch to decaff so I could sleep at night...
Everyone kept telling me to drink green "tea" but no!!! that's not tea! It's green stuff infused water!!!
I still manage to get 2-3 cups of normal (caff?!) tea before noon though!
lol decaff tea is totally acceptable!! After all, we wouldnt want any tea-worshippers having to deprive themselves of a cup just so that they could sleep! Decaff tea is ALWAYS better than no tea!

"Be nice. Think happy thoughts. Champion silver linings. Love all things (not just cute things like babies and kittens) & when you do love - love like they do in power ballads (you know like on a cliff with the wind in your hair and your eyes shut, knowing you'll never know love like this). Watch out for dog poo. Smile at people - even grumpy ones. Remember anything is possible & whatever you do always try to look on the bright side."
